Alter said a newly formed task force will find out exactly what the city needs to do to lower the number of injuries and deaths from guns.

    If done truthfully
, she's going to find that the suggested changes would mostly effect her constituency, as I am willing to bet that most violence in the city is committed by registered Democrats and those who would identify with Liberal polices.

“Austin is a creative place and if we can bring that together with the right data to be strategic and tailor things, then we will be in a position to do what we need to do,” Alter said.

    Huh?

Can someone translate this “profound” statement?

My cousin twice removed needs a tax funded gig that will make him rich and get me some much needed donations and mage it sound like I give a rats ass.

And how would you pay for this?

Tought on crime laws like minimum sentences and 3 strike laws for any 3 felony crimes were all the rage in the 90s but as usual with knee jerk response to anything by gooberments they didnt think them thru, as in just how many people would be sent to prison and more importantly HOW THEY PAY FOR IT.

This lead to massive overcrowding with no money to pay for prisons or staff. They also had no way to pay for all the judges and court facilities such increases in volumes would create.

They also have people in prison for life for committing low level non violent felonies or in for extremely long terms for stupid shit cause judges had no leeway in sentencing for some crimes.

You thought sounds great, even completely justified and proper but nothing is so simple.

    Just sayin.

And before someone fails basic comprehension or puts words in my mouth I am only making a point and explaining the consequences of such courses of actions nothing else.

so it costs more to have a violent person in jail than a dude busted for 6oz of pot ?

And overcrowding is solved with the termination of life.

Yeah, no problem, I have been reading gov-speak for years.

    Here ya go:

"We are going to make sure that we have some data generated that will back up the unconstitutional things we planned to do already."

Since Austin has been infected by leftists from the PRC (People Republic of California) they now speak the same babble as the leftists leading the PRC into oblivion. Once they gather the data and facts they can then ignore them and mandate new gun laws which is what they want in the first place. This is the model that I saw first hand when I lived in the PRC. Find a problem create a solution and then compile data to support your conclusion.

TRANSLATION- We are going to begin a program where we go to homes with a search warrant any time a victim of DV says there are gun in the home and confiscate them after the EPO is filed.
