    I've seen pictures of stuff like this, and have read stories of things like this, but I know when I went in for my MRI, there were plenty of metal objects in the room, mostly items that were part of the room itself. Light switch covers, ceiling tile grids, grid hangers, metal handles on cabinets, etc.

    I guess it's more of a directional thing?

    Umm.... ya do realize not all metal is magnetic don't ya? Aluminum, some stainless steel alloys, and many other metals aren't affected by a magnet.

    It's why ya can't pick your brass up with a magnet.

    Sure you can, you just need a magnet made of brass. :D

    {Before anyone goes off on metallurgy, just kidding.}

    Most, if not all the stuff you described is not ferrous.
