Looks like any other revolver to me.

Now that they are getting their asses handed to them in the AR, M16, SAA, and 1911 market I am glad they can add the DA revolver market back to the list.

Don't get me wrong, I hope it does well for them. I just can't stand their fanbois.

I'm always happy to see new guns hit the market, especially revolvers, but what exactly does Colt's new revolver offer over those offered by S&W and Ruger, especially to command that kind of price?

I liked the new King Cobra. The trigger is butter and the fit and finish were excellent. I'd definitely consider one if the street price is comparable to a Smith.

Especially with adjustable sights, wood stocks and a 4" barrel.

The locks on Smiths don't bug me but they do quite a few people. That's another positive for the Colt.

    Gunz are icky.
Thoughts on the trigger for your new 3" wheeler? I've only ever shot a Python (yes, different but still a Colt wheeler) and found it to be lovely.

    Trigger is very very good.
Its a little different than a Python but very smooth.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Was considering this with the Kimber K6S the other day at the gun show. Went with the kimber because there was no exposed hammer. I'm definitely expecting to get flamed for comparing a Colt with a Kimber in the revolver category but still something that will remain unresolved in my mind as far as actual handling in a 3" .357.

It will be interesting seeing a $1,000 colt king cobra compete with used guns in the $500-800 price range.

Since this is a competitive target pistol (revolver) are there a lot of wheel gun competitions I am missing?

I would have preferred a half-lug myself but it does look nice. Those Colt medallions have got to be worth $100 each. ;)

I wouldn't take that bet 'cause my Rugers handle just about anything available and whatever I load. Especially my favorite Ruger (and favorite revolver) ........45 Long Colt, with a four inch barrel and a birdshead grip!
