Many, many years ago , when I was in junior high, we raised goats. Our vice principle was Spanish. He would buy kids from us every couple of months.

One day I was standing in the lunch line he came up and asked if we had any kids for sale. I told him we did. The girl behind me was surprised that he wanted a pet goat. I told her he kills and eats them. She broke down crying.

I had fun chasing chickens on my grandparents farm. The little girl cousins who run around behind us playing along, until the first chicken got caught. Then WHOOP, the head would get yanked off, the headless chicken would fly around kicking a spraying geysers of blood, and the little girls would run SCREAMING in terror to mamaw cause “bobo pulled the head off it mamaw!!!!”

Mamaw s response included having the little girls assist in plucking and cleaning those chickens. And boy was her fried chicken good.

I’ll bet every one of those girls is a vegan. I know damn well they remember it too, I hear the stories every time we have family get togethers.

People should be made to see that part of life, the sanitized germ free world of a coddled baby is no way to raise a man.

I discovered that a well placed .22 to a chicken’s head eliminates all of the “headless theatrics” that are displayed when a chicken is chased down and killed. Might have something to do with Adrenalin.

You put the pig on its back, and sit on it with your back to its head. Then pull the back legs down towards its head, which makes his balls stick out, and thus easier to cut them. And he's not squeeling directly into your face.

But yeah, its crazy ear piercing. My method makes it more bearable.

What are your thoughts on this?

Personally, I find this highly disturbing, for many reasons. The abuse that these animals are having to endure is absolutely unacceptable and should be criminal, and the idea that the government can prevent people from videoing and exposing these issues is disgusting. Now before anyone calls me a tree hugger or a vegan (thems fightin' words!), that is not the case at all. I eat meat, a lot of meat. I hunt and I fish, and I buy fresh meat from the store all the time just like most Americans. There's nothing wrong with eating meat. That said, I find it hard to believe that this kind of treatment could be seen as acceptable. Are they isolated incidents? Maybe, but if so, wouldn't ethical companies want to show off how well their animals are being treated instead of trying to silence people? Farming and ranching are not always pretty, but the kind of abuse shown in this video goes far beyond that in my opinion.

I'm usually against the overly aggressive animal rights activist/PETA types because they're usually wrong about stuff, but not this time. What was shown in that video was just plain, unnecessary abuse.

Also, I REALLY like this guy (John Stossel). He tries to be unbiased and give both sides of the argument, but he also has a low tolerance for BS and will tell someone exactly what he thinks they are right to their face (a parasite, a socialist, ect). We need more journalists like him.

I guess the same people who were upset about all those undercover tapes about butchered baby body parts being sold and a woman from planned parenthood so ugly a case of beer would make my hand more appealing being stopped from taping has something to do with it.
