Picked up a old NIB (still stapled shut) Dillon XL650 (45ACP)and the matching Case feeder. Also NIB. Then dropped by SW Reloading Supply and a guy walked in wanting to sell some reloading stuff. The clerk said they were not buying so we went outside and I wound up with most of a 550. Now I have to spend more to make them work.

The 650 has two variations I know of...as I have both. The main casting is slightly different and the case feeder sits differently. The old feed tube is apparently the same as for the bigger machine if you ever need a new one. The newer variation has Zerk fitting in the operating linkage. You can retrofit the older model to use those. The kit runs about $65.

Any idea how to figure the age? SN maybe? It's old enough the AAA Alkaline packed with the primer alarm had leaked. The expiration date was Feb 2002. GRIN If I'm guessing right on the SNit was made the 24th week of '98. If so it's old enough to buy a pistol.

Before moonpie starts screaming here are the pics. I didn't dig any deeper. I pulled the staples out of the top of the bx.

Call Dillon Monday. They've always been very helpful.

The only issue I've had with my 650 was the detent on the shell plate and I trimmed the spring and it works great
    Love my 650, it's my 223 workhorse

I’m more interested in the 550.

There are no serial numbers on Dillon 650/550 presses.

What did ya pay for the 650 setup?

Also if ya want to see some of the mods I've made to my pair of 650 presses just let me know.

There are a few aftermarket parts that make using them a lot easier.

Sorry about the delayed response. All I have done is open the box and look in, nothing has been unpacked except the primer feed to get the leaking battery out. Other things got in the way and I closed the box back up and put it in a corner for another day. Thanks MM I was planning on getting in touch with you when I start setting it up. I got the number off the bar code label. Probably nowhere near a SN, oh well.

I just added a shelving unit to my press setup which is a Dillon 550.

The bottom shelf hold some bullets some Gunpowder and my reloading scale as well as to Folgers coffee cans full of empty clean Brass.

Middle Shelf has some empty ammo boxes 3/4 boxes of bullets to more folders cans and my Brown & Sharpe calipers.

The top shelf holds Bunches of empty ammo cans Folgers brass cans and two tool heads with dies and powder measure.

The Architects lamp is mounted on a bracket I made to raise it up off the table top so that I can move it to wherever I need to buy swinging it and adjusting.

On the bench top there's a container of 9 mm brass and a box with the 2000 rounds of 45 brass that's been processed a new shipment.

On the far right is my Gunsmithing Vise for minor things to do two pistols and the checkbook which paid for all this.
