Looking @ the Randall's ad this week I see bnls chicken breast & wings are the same price. I do like chicken wings, especially when they aint been buffaloed!
These were seasoned with garlic powder, black pepper, and “salted” with a liberal amount of Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning, then sprinkled with olive oil before roasting.

Paid 1.66lb at Kroger bought 15lbs, vacuum packed/froze 12 wings a bag/each enough for three meals for me.

Thanks to everyone who reached out to me after my wife's passing. It means alot. I really appreciate you guys who went to lunch with me the last few weeks. You know who you are.

After my wife passed I had dozens of people who brought / sent food over. I have enough to eat for a couple months probably.

Having lasagna tonight, made by this Italian lady I know. Maybe the best I have ever had. And putting out a meal tonight to thaw out for tomorrow: salmon w asparagus and brussels sprouts.

I made a pot of black eyed peas for myself, and the girls helped with their stir fry. My 6 year old ate two bowls of beans and told me next time I should make cornbread...needy little fart. I cant keep my 4 year old out of the kitchen, so I might as well put them to work and let them learn something.

Since I can only upload one photo at a time with tapatalk now, here are the beans that we traded to the neighbor for some of her keto taco casserole. I didnt grow up with much, and often we had little more to eat other than a big pot of beans or whatever soup could be made with what was on hand. I appreciate fine dining, but I'll always be happy and content with humble meals, they're comfort food for me.

I was trying to copy Treebeards with what I had on hand, they were simple but good, I ate them over white rice. My 4 year old wanted lima beans...I think I spoiled her last week when I made lima beans with pulled smoked turkey legs. As odd as it may sound, I started them with a blonde roux so that I'd end up with a thickened "gravy" of sorts. The guys at the dove hunt last weekend loved them too.

I'll quit whoring this thread, but first...I made dove tacos by finely mincing dove breast with garlic and salt and then stir fried them with jalapeno slices over a hot fire disc to a perfect medium well. They went like hotcakes! I have a lot of respect for the animals that I steal the souls from, and I try to show that respect through my presentation. I think I had almost 2.5 hours worth of effort invested in these simple tacos. I used to prepare 75% of the food that my family ate. Now that I'm divorced but still always in the kitchen, I still manage to prepare much of what they eat, I just drop it with their momma frozen so that she has less to worry about. Being a single mother that works a full time job and goes to nursing school while raising two girls cant possibly be easy, I try to help when and where I can.

First time having pumpkin as a side dish... I don't like pumpkin pie, or pumpkin flavored crap, but I thought this was really good! I seasoned it with salt, pepper, all spice, and a little bit of generic "curry powder", tossed in a little olive oil, then oven roasted at 500° for 30min.

I'm really surprised pumpkin has less carbs than rutabaga, which is what I normally give that seasoning treatment to.

The oven roasted chicken was good, too.

Everybody needs ideas for supper. Post your dinner. Spread the knowledge so your fellow man can make a decent dinner without using creation will power. Besides, it's hard to think when you're hungry.

    As for me,

Tonight's dinner is Chicken Fried Pork Fingers. Side dish is going to be potato something.

Deep fryer cuts dish count down. No pots to scrub.

This coonass misses his rice, badly.
While this looks like lurps, surprised how good it was.
It's all in seasoning and how you cook it.
Slowly perfecting both ... it ain't rice but close enough this time

I need to start learning the rice and pasta substitutes.
    That does look good.

I do like my shrimp and/or chicken and pasta with Alfredeaux sauce.
Was a once a week meal last year, when I weighed 62 lbs more.
    No damn wonder, heh ...

While there are low/no carb commercial products known as Shiritake noodles, I don't trust the labels and they're way too pricey.

Did some research on a homemade low/no carb pasta substitute but haven't tried it yet. It is pretty involved and not sure it is worth the trouble, but recently rounded up the ingredients.

If it works, I'll surely post it here.

As my dietitian (MDACC) would say...start slow in the transition to "healthy" noodles. Use 1/2 of your regular pasta and 1/2 zucchini/squash noodles to reduce your calories, and then slowly decrease the traditional pasta and increase the vegetables noodles.

Riced cauliflower is passable, but veggetti is retarded... I can just do without.

You're right, and I can usually season anything into submission, but yet to meet a vegetable noodle that passes the test.

One place riced cauliflower would fail ... gumbo.
    That ain't ever gonna happen.
