Y’all are focusing on the wrong thing. The victim should have noticed/done something in the white space to the left of video start.

I’m guessing here, but the victim was probably joined by the group. When the dice started rolling was probably the first sign.

I don’t know about y’all, but when I’m by myself I don’t really care for a group of others to just roll up and join me; it’s unnatural behavior.

When the victim was boxed in on three sides (dude on the left, dude in front, shrub behind) it’s too late to do anything as evidenced when the guy in red threw the punch.

I’ll give the criminal gang high marks for a sound OPLAN: one that nails the essentials (isolate the target, apply overwhelming force, provide no options save surrender or defeat), but is flexible in execution based on enemy/victim actions.

Dollar says this is a high-crime area in Minneapolis.

I believe that’s near Target field. Which is in downtown. I was there a few weeks ago. It appears to be a nice, walkable downtown with lots of stores and places to eat.

That was pretty hard to watch. Took my mind back to the time when a white truck driver was beaten half to death at the flashpoint of the Rodney King LA riot. All I can say is....If Obama had a son!!
That was an excellent time for those scary looking rifles.

    Talking about shortage of officers....

My SIL is a sherriff for Harris county.
he told me Saturday that during his shift, there are 20 on duty, but only 5 actually patrolling, answering calls.
The other 15, including himself, are sitting in subdivisions, providing security for whatever might happen.

At the beginning of the video I counted 7 "brothers" milling around preparing to surround him. I have to say, drunk or not, if I am alone on the street and 7 "brothers" are milling around me......I am getting the phuck out of there. At the end I counted 11 of the heathens involved in the attack. And they wonder why racial tension in this country runs so high........

Well they want you worried that the handful of real nazis in the country are going to kill everyone and not the 13% of the population that commits over 50% of the violent crime. But stats & facts are racist. Just like this idiot found out in the video

"In most cases the sub divisions are paying for that deputy to be in their community."

Wait, they're on the clock AND doing private security - private because patrolling is what they should be doing and not in just some damn sub-division only or do I have it wrong?

That's true for his(her?)* district, but not for the entire County. By that I mean, those numbers aren't the total numbers of deputies on duty in the entire County. Just saying. Also, those subdivision deputies are known as "contract deputies", whose salaries are paid by those several subdivisions--paid to the County and then paid as salary to those deputies as employees of the Sheriff. If those contracts are ended, those contract deputies jobs are ended.

*My "his(her?)" comes from you having post "SIL" but then you used "he" and "his" in your post.

    You have it wrong.

The job of the contract deputies is to patrol those subdivisions. Those contract deputies don't have a job without those contracts, as the County wouldn't be able to afford to hire them. This is likewise true with respect to many contract deputy constables. The subdivisions contract with the County and then the County uses those funds to directly hire those deputy sheriffs or deputy constables. If those contracts end, those deputy sheriffs and deputy constables are terminated.

Another point of information, when there is a hot call--such as an "assist the officer"--those contract deputies are able to provide a surge capability of response that the Sheriff's Office, and the Constable's Department(s) would not otherwise have on duty at that time if it were not for the Contract Deputy Programs.
