The current push by Evers and his cohorts is for UBC and red flag.

This headline (OP) comes from a brief non-committal response to a question about buy-backs. Certainly not out of the realm of possibility, but apparently not as hot a topic as that article implies.

Although Madison is a bit more liberal than Austin, the House and Senate are still Republican controlled, probably slowing down some of the push by Evers and crew. Of course, media bias is coloring the entire topic and many of the lazy, under-informed think UBC and red flag will somehow produce positive results. One of the local radio/web news outlets (where I am) posted the question: “Do you support red flag legislation that would allow judges to have guns taken away from people ruled mentally ill?” and got 132 yes, 38 no.

This article https://www.wispolitics.com/2019/ev...cans-accuse-guv-of-wanting-to-seize-firearms/ presents a pretty good discussion of what went down last Thursday.

The way the question is worded I infer at least some type of due process is involved. But I'm assuming that's not how it would actually happen.

This is just going to get worse if but one state actually does it more will try, IL, CT, MA, and of course CA. They will try this method or try to restrict the purchase of ammo. They have that in some states now I believe. It's going to get a lot worse if a democrap controlled house, senate and especially president is elected in 2020. Imagine a world of neighbors snitching on neighbor "My God He Has Guns". I saw things like this when I was in the service and in base housing they used to call up and report people leaving the outside lights on. Imagine if they reported someone with a gun in the lib utopia.

That's why there is a lot of talk about war.

The whole point of red flag laws are to circumvent due process in the heat of the moment when ‘public safety’ trumps individual rights and freedom.

It’s only after the fact that process occurs, and that usually requires people who make a living off the DSM-5, where odds are about even you can be diagnosed with some sort of mental disorder, pass judgement on you and report it to the court.

I get that. That's why I think the question in that poll is misleading. It states "ruled mentally ill". Implying, to me, that due process was followed to rule a person should not have firearms before the confiscation occurs. I realize that it is not how the people asking the question want the process to happen .
