I've been pondering on buying an AK 47 variant for quite some time. I have never owned one, but they have intrigued me, so now seems to be the time. Now I know the M+M M10X isn't really an AK, more like a cross between an AR and an AK, but I do like the looks of it and would like feedback on it, good or bad.

I don’t know anything about that particular brand/model/setup but it looks badass.

And I like the 7.62x39 round. (I use it in my Ruger Mini-30.)
It has some pretty good reviews, but then I can find good reviews on many AK's, although many aren't easy to find.

I have had this rifle for about a year now. It is by far the most accurate 7.62x39 rifle I own. It has been reliable as well with all types of magazines and ammo. I'm pushing 2000ish rounds through it. Great trigger, super smooth action, ergonomic, easy maintenance. I don't have anything bad to say about it, except that I have yet to see a hog while I am wielding it. I personally own several SKS and AK rifles and wanted something different. It was pricey, but IMO well worth it.

THANKS! I was hoping to get feedback from those that have shot it, you owning one is even better. I really like the looks of that rifle and it seems like it would be better for optics than a standard AK (not getting in the way of cleaning). It will cost about $400 more than the AK I was looking to buy, but less than the AK I was hoping to find.

AK's have there place and I'll keep mine, but this rifle does take the cake for this caliber. Being able to mount optics has always been something that lacks on AK's. I missed the reunion, but if your ever around Cedar Park you're welcome to try it out.

Well, unless I hear a lot of negativity about this rifle, I'll probably have my own before I make it down to your neck of the woods again, but thank you.

The Sig 556xi 7.62x39 is a really nice rifle. Very accurate (see below, 100 yards - and that is a dime).

You can get a model with a folding stock. Takes AK mags.

May be worth a look as well.

I had never heard of this before this thread. Intriguing rifle. I'm not sure if it's $1200 intriguing but I wouldn't mind checking one out.

For that money I would get a converted Saiga or even one of the custom AK models (i.e. Krebs)...
Yeah, I looked at Krebs and I will admit they are tempting, but $1200 was stretching my budget quite a bit, let alone $2000. I found a new Arsenal SAM7R-68 at a local gun shop here in town for $1800 and wondered if I could go a month on eating pancakes. (Gotta buy ammo yet too)

I have an Arsenal SAM-7 and a SGL-21. Neither of those rifles shakes a stick compared to the M10x. Of course if didn't already have those rifles, the M10x wouldn't have been on my list. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the mentioned rifles.

I'm still at least a week from ordering, so I'm still looking. I certainly don't mind the suggestions. The Zastava ZPAP was at the top of my list and the reviews were pretty positive, but that M+M M10x is like taking it to the next level, and I love the look and simplicity of it.
