If finances are tight once you have a few boxes of each caliber load up on 22lr.

If the time to evacuate comes you can carry a whole lot more 22 ammo for the same weight and volume as anything else.

If there is a shortage you will be able to keep shooting through it and resupply the bigger calibers after.
I guess it's a good thing that I have lots of 22lr pistols and rifles.

How many 50 cal ammo cans is 2,000 rounds of 22lr?
I just counted, and I’ve got 3,750 rounds in this 50 cal ammo can.

Imagine how many would fit if they were in quart baggies, instead of cardboard boxes.
That can has all the individually wrapped 50 and 100 round boxes. I have a 30 cal ammo can that is almost full of loose rounds. I’m not counting that one. I will say that it weighs more than the 50 cal can.

Welp, I just ordered about 15 pounds of smokeless, and the stuff to get started loading for 6.5 Grendel. I still want to order a little more powder along with a few thousand primers, but I think I'm more or less stocked up. At least enough to take most of the sting out of a shortage.

I should probably buy some .22 LR too. I think I have maybe two bricks of Federal. I just don't shoot .22 that often. About the time I got into guns, a major shortage happened and didn't let of for several years. I made due with what I had, mainly 5.56 and 9mm. I might get some more just because I have been eyeballing one of those Ruger Precision Rifles. My cousins are getting close to the age where we might teach them to shoot. That would be a good gun to teach them one.

Ive consolidated to 9mm, 223/556, and 12ga. Those are the only rounds I stockpile currently. I will probably start building up a bunch of 300 prc but I dont currently have a long rifle. All the other calibers I just keep some around for shooting every mow and then.

The fact that flamethrowers exist is proof that someone thought “I want to set those people on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done”.

Thats what the 300 prc will be for.
