The only mags I buy are Tripp as I have never had an issue with them in any 1911 I have tried.
The Checkmates that came with the DW have had no issues either.
Everything else I have tried caused failures, but that was a long time ago in my first and rather "cheap" 1911.

No problem at all with Sellier & Bellot, .45 ACP, FMJ, 230 Grain.

All three of mine have had issues develop with 230gr. After a while they stop consistently locking back.

My friend had the same issues with 2 others.

They are ok with 185gr. If you shoot 230, get ETM or ETM-V's

I have Wilson 8rd that came with 1911 purchases, no issues at all. The only mags I have ever purchased alone are Chip McCormick 8 & 10rd and I couldn't be happier with them. I only shoot 230gr.

    Type 4 malfunction

Not for me. Just failures to lock back on last round.

A quick google shows MANY people having issues with 47d's

    Not a shock, it's 8 rounds in a 7 round mag body.

You want to know why you don't see as many people complaining about the ETMs or the ETMVs, or the 7 round wilson mags? Because in order to make room for that extra round, you need a weaker spring, and a weaker spring won't work well.

The slide stop has plenty of engagement on the follower, and of all my mags, even the crappy gun show 10$ specials, these are the only ones that have issues.

I have a few conversion sets that make them 7 rounders. I'll bet they will work fine after that

Dude, been shooting 1911s for 17 years. Multiple shooting schools, thousands of rounds, only 47D mags. You are the only person I have every read about having issues with 47Ds

A type 4 malfunction is a brass over bolt malfunction, fyi.

I could keep going, because as i said, I'm clearly not alone.

Nobody ever made a magazine more reliable by cramming in more ammo and using a weaker spring. Wilson knows this, thats why the etm series of magazines uses a longer body and stroger spring.

I'm not saying that they don't work for some, if not most people, but you don't need to know much about firearms to realize other wilson offerings are superior.

    That's unfortunate for y'all.

Man, i couldnt imagine having this attitude. "Huh huh your stuff doesn't work, sucks for you!"

Shit like this is why gun people hate each other.

But its not a big deal, wilson makes better mags than the 47D.

99.8% (+/- .1%)of the owners have no issues.
I hate no one, it is unfortunate you feel that way.
    Your poor experience is unfortunate.
Have you tried addressing the issue with the MFG?

Yes, i emailed, but they went unanswered. I sent another one a day or two ago.

I'm pretty (very) low level in the firearms industry, but your attitude, whether in jest or not, is extremely common, and typically is 100% sincere.
