I've done a little google research on threading a Beretta CX4 Carbine barrel. All of the posts I have seen were posted back around 2007. They basically say that it is illegal to thread a CX4 barrel because as an imported "sporting" arm it is not allowed to have anything attached to the muzzle end. Also, some 922R legalities might be in play. Others have posted about conflicting ATF letters circling around the internet. It's also of note to include that Beretta does not offer the CX4 with a threaded barrel.

???How can a CZ Scorpion carbine have a threaded barrel and not a CX4???

Anyone here have a definitive answer with proof from this decade? It looks like there are companies out there that will do the threading but possible NFA classifications may be required.
As always.....asking for a friend .

Used to be a company that sold enough American made parts to make it 922R compliant.

Where is the Scorpion manufactured? And is it in rifle or pistol configuration?

From what I've seen the CZ Scorpion Carbine and Pistol are both made in Czech Republic and imported. The Carbine and Pistol version are both threaded 1/2x28 from the factory.

I checked CZs website. They just used US made parts when manufacturing it in order to remain compliant. They also sold a parts kit for the pistols at one time for those wishing to convert their pistols.

Someone needs to cite the law regarding the above mentioned "can" and "can't" thread. Sounds like it's all internet BS! :green:

    Close. It’s actually federal BS.

Two identical firearms are legally different based on the origin of a few parts despite identical function.

It’s the reason the CX4 has that funky ass stock.

    Never heard of sighting in?

Of course I have and I also thought that the guy in the background might actually have been working the target controls, and not shooting a pistol like I originally thought.
Maybe it's actually a 100 yard indoor range.
That's why I immediately deleted my post, actually within about 10 seconds.

How you quoted it 28 minutes later I don't know, unless you recieved an email, and copied it from that.
