    The worst thing I can think of about dogs,,we outlive them. Or that I will most likely not outlive my current best friend Bait and will one day leave her without me.
    Not sure which feeling is worse.

    Our household is down to 2 dogs now. When you come home from a hard days work your kids are still on the couch watching TV but your dogs are barking and running to the door to meet you. Just the way it is.

    My middle son has 2 Dachshunds. One is a dog he got from a lady that was moving and it was determined to be too old and feeble to withstand the move. Mostly blind, arthritis, very frail and boney and a host of other ailments. They did not expect him to live more than a few months at most. Poor thing looked and acted like he was on deaths doorstep and knocking real loud.
    That was 3-4 years ago. He is ugly as shit, in a lovable way, but still going. Barely sometimes, but still going.

    Hope that one turns out to be as tough.

    morning, I feel ur pain. I have a weener. just 10yrs.
    he is my buddy. we go fishing, hunting and exploring.
    everywhere I go he goes. people think when u talk
    to ur animals that ur minnow bucket is not full.
    it keeps people away. my weendog is my son.
    my son was killed by a drunk driver.
    Harley was 6" long when I got him.

    Gunz are icky.
    Evidently there is some kind of weird out of nowhere cancerous heart tumor thing that occurs in canines.
    Vet prescribed some antibiotics and some other pills.
    We'll take her back in a couple/three weeks for a re-check.
    Sis will have to make the call from there.
