As soon as glock releases a new 5.56mm rifle the great debate will begin over how superior it is and then of course I will have another category of firearms to put on my do not buy list.

Glock could make an insane amount of money by offering stripped AR lowers.

No. The basic question was while we have all of these 1911 vs. Glock debates where are all the AR vs. whatever debates?

My response was stating that the AR doesn't have a more modern, affordable, and customizable counterpart to debate with.

That's why I was confused, it didn't read that way to me.

KSG is one of two unmodified shotties I have seen that will digest the mini shells without hiccups.

Yeah, you don't wanna go shoot a coupla rounds of skeet with it in an afternoon, but for a SHTF house gun, it's hard to beat. And I lied - I actually own a pair of 'em - one for my office, the other in the garage. I'm too lazy to go get it if someone comes up needin' something.........lol

Well he made most of it, and then died. So being that he didn’t finish it 100% and someone else did, it is inherently flawed.

He got it as close to 100% as he did any other of his designs. His design was finished, but JMB didn't make guns, he designed them.

The 1911 isn't exactly the pistol JMB had envisioned etither.

When I used to own and ride motorcycles, I knew guys that would go buy a $25,000 Harley and add $5,000 or more of chrome, fringe, and other useless doodads and trinkets to it.

That’s all fine. But when they tried to sell it, they wanted full cost recovery including all the doodads, and couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t sell.

    Same mindset. Different subject matter.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I was looking at a Softail Custom back in 1997. The guy that had wanted an extra $5K for all of the "Live to Ride, Ride to Live" stuff he had installed all over the bike. I told him "I see this is your first bike." He asked how I knew that, and I told him that only new riders put that crap all over their bike and he would have to take $5K less than the blue book value, to cover my expenses of removing and replacing all of the engine covers he had "customized". He got angry and I left. He had that bike in the ads for 3 years. I don't know if he came down on the price, or found a sucker, or just traded it for something else.

Ya, some guys really dont want to sell but try to appease the wife.

I'll take your word on the 23 year old Harley story. People dont get the fact that used parts are just that and labor is forfeited.

I saw an ad on TGT selling a Glock 43 for 800 dollars because of the customization done. Stipple, slide mill work and TTI stuff. Right now TTI stuff does hold its value pretty well but you're not getting reimbursed for paying a guy 250 bucks for mutilating your frame with a iron.

When I sell a gun with extras it's a package. All the parts are priced at the low end of what I've seen used stuff sell for and it is easily removed if an interested buyer doesnt want them cause they sell on their own, or I just throw them in.

I let my wife shoot everything before buying her first handgun for her. She picked a snub nose S&W revolver. She had a problem working the slide on most automatics. Later, she wanted a Kimber Micro 9. I got one for her. She worked on working the slide for some time, and she used that little pistol in her concealed carry class.

I strongly and respectfully suggest that you not let your "now armed and trained" wife read your post......

    Why is that?

She was there for everything I wrote in that post, and I have not said anything that might offend her anywhere on the internet.

She wanted the Kimber micro 9 because it looks a lot like my duty sidearm, which is a Kimber 1911 (first generation) in all matte stainless. She has shot my sidearm many times, and she loves it; she just can't work the slide reliably.

The BEST pistol = The one you have when you NEED one!
Years ago my pistol saved me many times.I had to run night elevator calls to D.C. Public housing! Never had to discharge it, but showing it saved me MANY times. What WAS it? a .25 Beretta! It fit in my shirt pocket, and made it thru several LE 'checks' undiscovered. Possession in D.C. was10 years in club fed. 1911 or Glock was an impossibility.

Who'd you have to pull it out for? The same people you were servicing?
