Well today is the day. My kids now say I’m old. Today is “the big one.” The one that puts me over the hill.

So, to celebrate this milestone I’ve been debating for the last several months what purchase to make. I missed out on the local Kimber, the Remington 3200 sold quickly, and some optics also sold at a great price.

A friend sent me a link to a LEO trade-in G22 and I tried to talk myself out of it even though the price was cheap. I don’t need a new caliber but it does have options so I was intrigued. I almost pushed it aside until I recognized it was meant to be. How could I turn down a .40 for my 40th?

Since when is forty "over the hill"? Turning forty is a milestone in life when you realize all the stupid crap you do to yourself and how it's harming your body. You'll still do the same stupid stuff but at least now you know how bad it is for you! And never forget.....Turning older is a major PITA, but it sure beats the alternative.

    Happy Birthday.

I consider 40 the point where you are near the top of the hill and really getting tired of climbing.

I always consider $300 for a Glock a great deal. That's what makes it so hard being in GT's in Austin. They have piles of them.

Yep, 40 was no problem but after 45 I could tell a slight difference. Then at 55 I only wish I was 40.

Youth and age are a sliding scale. Anyone 10 years younger than you is a kid and anyone 10 years older than you is an old person.
Kind of a shock when you look at someone and think "Man, they have really aged." and then you realize they are the same age as you...

Thanks y’all. I don’t think 40 is old but my wife sure likes to pick on me and say it is. She’s a keeper though.

And I certainly don’t feel old in this crowd. I suppose if I do start feeling that way I can always mention it and get reminded I’m still a young’un.

I’m gonna look into the 9mm conversion barrel with the proper extractor too. I already have some mags that will work with that.
