Nowhere else in the all the vastness of the universe is life known to exist.
Just because we are ignorant of whether or not life exists elsewhere does not mean there is not life elsewhere. I find it hard to believe, almost impossible to fathom, that life is absent except for here. In fact, I believe it highly likely life exists on other planets or in other venues, there is almost no doubt in my mind since the universe is so big. Then again, I am fairly certain that all of the life I will ever get to enjoy is located right here on earth. Yet, I still take the advice given at the end of the 1951 movie The Thing From Another World - "Watch the skies" and I also own a 44 REM MAG revolver and a 300 WIN MAG rifle just in case.

What we consider the "known universe" is such a tiny part of what's out there I don't even consider it anything.

The chance of visitors does play into why I own guns though not that I think our firearm technology would make much of a difference.

Let's just hope any visitors send scientists and not soldiers.

    OP back atcha'

    Notice I said....
"Nowhere else in the all the vastness of the universe is life known to exist."

It likely does or has or will harbor life.
    Just presently unknowable.

The universe is also temporally vast.
Life may have existed elsewhere a million or a hundred million or a billion years ago and long since has gone extinct.
Once our sun runs out of fissionable elements there will, quite likely, be not a trace of our earth or civilization ever having existed but there just may be sentient life newly evolved somewhere out there wondering if they are unique and alone in the universe!!!

Drake equation coarsely estimating the chance of other life.

Likely, perhaps there is life elsewhere.
    Known? Not a hint.

Check it out, click it to make it intelligible.

Let's just hope any alien visitors send scientists and not soldiers.

Or culinary experts going to market, eh?

Fortunately it is likely that visitors from other worlds have never been here and will never be here. The distances are too great and the physics utterly immutable.

    Though I never say never.
