I've been sitting on buying one for some time, And will be buying one as soon as Uncle Sam takes his pound of flesh in his annual tax filing.

I was settled on the silencer co Hybrid 46.
I like the direct thread option.
It can on every hunting bolt gun I own.
I can use it on my 458 SOCOM AR
I would probably get the Q cherry bomb mount for my ARs and AR pistols eventually.
I like that it will even go on my sub2000, M9A3, and FNX-45.

Then I find the Griffin bushwhacker 46
    https://www.silencershop.com/silencers/pistol/griffin-bushwhacker-46.html

It's bigger, don't think direct thread is an option. But the baffles are removable.

My question, are removable baffles a better option?

I don’t think removable baffles are all that...most centerfire fans aren’t user-serviceable, and really don’t require servicing anyway.

I think you’re on the right track with a versatile can, though.

But don’t try to make your first can do it all...you’re gonna get more cans anyway (trust me LOL)

My first fan was a Griffin Recce 5, they make quality suppressors

Have you been able to shoot some cans to get an idea what you want?

I've used an AAC SD or SDN in 7.62. at my cousin's deer lease. I liked the 308 bolt gun suppressed.

That's is the extent of my experience.

I can see myself getting a smaller dedicated 5.56 can.

I'm also tempted to just get a 30 Cal can and not worry about my 458, 9mms or 45s

I haven’t been bitten by the handgun can bug yet, so I don’t have much of an opinion...other than the size, which means they’d really be range toys, methinks.

Bolt guns are sooooooooo much quieter than semis when suppressed. It was really surprising to me just how much.

I think cans make rifles a lot more enjoyable to shoot...I don’t shoot mine unsupressed much anymore. Given this, if you indeed end up using it a lot, then weight is something you’re gonna want to consider.

I am currently in the exact same boat as you. I thought about getting the Hybrid as well since I could use it on my pistols and AR. Then I read about it being heavy for a pistol suppressor and ok for a rifle suppressor. And as pronstar says, you will never only have one can.

I decided to get the Osprey 45 as my first can and then get a dedicated can for my AR. As for cleaning, if you get a Silencerco one, you can send it back to them and they will clean it for free for you.

After you buy your rifle, scope and bullets. A suppressor is the best thing you can buy for outdoor hunting/target application.

Removal baffles don't really bring much to the table. IMHO

Hybrid is a solid can. Works on anything. If weight is an issue... looking to that. I have the .30 harvester. It's like a feather on the end of the rifle.

Currently have my Hybrid on my .243 bolt. It does a good job suppressing the loud sucker. I would like to try a .30cal cap on it.

    You will like the hybrid.
Works great on the 458 socom, ar-40, and ar-45.

If I ever thread one of my .44mag rifles it will be shoe in.

My hybrid earned my an Octane45HD with SIlencerCo’s promo. My octane has been approved, should have the stamp in 11 days.

Just focus on something else until your stamp comes in

I am using a Remington 405gr flat point semi jacked bullet over H110. I have about 1000-1500 of those bullets in bulk so that should last me awhile. Haven’t had a chance to fire them outdoors to see how much attenuation I am getting. But I will work on a subsonic load with the 405gr.
