This is the Beretta 92's daddy. All steel, 9mm SAO, with an 8 round single stack magazine. This is not one of the surplus 1951's that came in recently from Italy. It was purchased here in the US by someone in the late 70's and it's in pretty good condition as most of these pistols are heavily used by now. I just got this one added to my Beretta collection the other day.

    m5215,

NICE 1951. - I once had one of the commercial ones that had evidently "had service with " at some unknown time with the Italian Navy (NR).

I liked it very much but it was traded off as "boot" on trade for a 1920s Lugar.

There are no unique markings on it. Looks to be the standard commercial version that was available. The date code indicates it was made in 1978. Apparently after it was made in 1978 it was exported to the US for sale here so it was never issued to the Italian police or military like the surplus ones that are available. Whoever had it took good care of it as the original blued finish that Beretta used on their older pistols is in very good shape on this pistol. No major scratches or gouges on it. It will go well with my original Beretta 92 "step slide" pistol that I have.
