I know y'all are still trying to work out the bugs and having the "sign in" set up at your other nearby office makes sense for you logistically but the long drive down the rough dirt driveway is absolute hell in a small car. (Yes, this is Texas and I really should be driving a truck

)Any plans to set up a small office at the range itself?

I do like your facilities and was most impressed by the friendly "lets see what we can do to make that happen" attitude of your staff.

The hourly price isn't bad unless you shoot often. Getting a membership helps.

It is worth shopping around a bit if you shoot a lot though. I won't mention the name but the other close one is really going to make you gasp when you see the price for the first time you shoot.

These super long ranges have a hard time competing with the normal 100 yard ranges on price but if you want to shoot far you're going to have to pay.

Hence my “ for the average shooter” edit. And it is high. I still think paying $30 for a range orientation will be a deal killer for 95% of the average shooting public. For guys like you and younggun, a place to stretch out your shooting to a mile, not so much.

Excellent. I would be happy if “the average shooting public” took their circus to another town. Most public ranges should play calliope music and operate under a big top. These guys are legit and the facilities are top notch.

The annual Active Mil/LEO fee is extremely attractive. I would definitely be interested if you were to include retired military. Like all retired military, I do have an ID card.

While I tend to agree with you, remember the clowns and bozos are the vast majority of the shooting public. I hope this business model works well for them, and got the .01% of actual long range shooters, it seems like a great place.
The ambiguous answer to the NFA question sounds like a used car salesman’s pitch with the “sure we got it, ( maybe) but come on down and if we don’t got it, we will be sure to send you home with “something”

It is a yes or no question. Not a “ well, maybe but if we say no you can still shoot other stuff” question.

The safety and orientation is a 7 minute, recorded narrated power point brief.

We have put a lot of thought into the pricing scale and believe we have settled on something affordable for people who are serious about shooting and appreciate our facility. That said, we have only been open for a couple months and as we learn more pricing may change.

A great deal of our pricing decision came from looking at other ranges in the area. Compared to what we offer our prices are very competitive.

If you come out I think you'll agree our facility is unique and worth the price.

That picture is from a private event with one of our client organizations, and is not at all representative of the crowd during our business hours. We've only been open for a couple months so I can't tell you with certainty what a normal Sat/Sun looks like but we have not even come close to an overcrowding situation. Our long range has 15 bench rests, our pistol range has room for 10 shooters comfortably, and we have 34 tactical bays that can accommodate large groups or individuals. Our ultra-long range has 10 bench rests.

If you are a member and you call ahead of time we will make sure you have a bay waiting for you. For now, that has not been necessary.

If you buy a family membership every member of your household including kids in college are included. Anyone shooting is charged an hourly rate; $5 per hour for active duty military/law enforcement, $10 per hour for members, $20 per hour for non-members

Good on you ... like I said, wasn't ragging on you, just saying that, and as other mentioned in this thread, a Veterans designation on a TDL or LTC is no less legitimate, or verifiable in difficulty, than an active duty ID with regard to honoring.

And, it's good advertising ...

Thank you for your answer. I have shot at ranges in most of the lower 48 and even the “ upper crust” type facilities do not charge a separate fee to watch a video, have a live employee , or do an online orientation/range waiver.

I sincerely appreciate the feedback. We may end up making changes as we learn more about the market. Our range is still pretty new.

We don't give a Vet discount and I'm a Vet. We don't give any discounts. We are already the least expensive indoor range in the area by quite a bit...... 90% of our customers are Vets and Seniors.....

I can appreciate businesses that do give all Vet's a discount, but as a Vet, I never expect one......not everyone can afford to, imho...

Yes, the rates are flat and apply to all the ranges. Once you've paid and you're on the range you can move from one range to another as you like.
