I saw a documentary on the 'flat earthers' and I had a hard time believing it wasn't satire, but I guess the gullible will always be with us.........
I'm certain that a majority of the flat earthers are just trolling for attention, tv fame, or money. It's kind of like a "white militia" in the 90s... chances are there are one or two actual believers, but most or all members are feds looking to set someone up.

Trolly trolls trolling trolled troll trolls.

He has a better chance of getting money from Tosh.O , or Ridiculousness. Those are more fitting.

Since the launch was being filmed for the Science Channel series, I’m sure his family will get lots of money, even with a half-ass decent lawyer.

There is always a certain small percentage of people that want to be contrarians and, thus, will believe ridiculous nonsense just to be different.

Then there are the gullible, as you mention. That’s where Bernie gets his support from.

I was reading about his “career” yesterday, and his first go fund me only brought in a few hundred dollars. Once he appealed to the flat earther’s, he brought in much more money.

Follow the money. He found an easy way to bring in money by appealing to the crazies. There's a few interviews with him where it seems as though he believes every conspiracy theory there is.

Just curious here. Wouldnt it be easier and cheaper to use a drone or just a rocket with a camera on it? Did he really need to be attached to it? I bet he also removed everything from his fridge and closed himself inside to see if the light really turns off when you close the door.

    steam-powered rocket?

I feel bad for the guy. Can’t imagine what would drive a person to such extremes.
I understand the desire. I've day dreamed about launching myself in a home built rocket, or doing something similar to the dude that base jumped from the edge of space.

A drone likely wouldn’t be able to fly at a high enough altitude to see the curvature. There would be major problems with generating lift in the thin air and the weight of the batteries required to get high enough.

Could use a balloon to lift a drone high enough and then release it.

Thats what I am thinking. Just watching the video of that base jump is evidence enough for me
