Why would he feel less inclined to RINO? He probably thinks, and apparently obviously so, that people will vote for him as the lesser of two evils. He has zero incentive to change if people vote that way.
Politicians want to get re-elected. If they feel their future re-election is threatened (e.g., a challenger made a substantial showing in the last primary), they will often (not always) adjust in an attempt to regain the voter base they lost.

I don’t see Cornyn changing his stance on the patriot act or the 2A, regardless of how many votes others may receive.

    You could be right.

Guess we will find out, if Stovall gets enough votes.

And we could get surprised, Stovall might even win.

My wife and I both voted for Stovall yesterday.
    Ditto only we voted today.
My low point (some time ago) was voting in the Dem primary for an unlikely Gov candidate to try to help Clayton Wms win in the fall. The female candidate that I voted for didn't seem too formidable at primary time.....

I voted for his opponent, Stovall, in the primary. If Cornyn wins, I'll vote for his opponent in the general election. Cornyn has done more damage than any freshman Dem could possibly accomplish. He has to go....

I won't vote for a Dem, maybe ever again. But certainly not in the next election. The Dems has lost their minds.

They have a Muslim (not that there's anything wrong with that) extremist (lots wrong with that) who is anti-American.

    They have a communist. Nufsaid.

They have a gay guy, who seems to be making being gay his whole reason for running.

They have a fake indian who has no problem making stuff up and lying.

They have a racist billionaire trying to buy the election.

They have a former VP who appears to be in full stage dementia.

Only an idiot would vote for any of those people.

I'll vote no on term limits. The voters should limit people, not a law. I know the average voter just votes for the name they recognize but I still don't like a law about it.

The proposal would get the fat cats out of there. I voted for it.

At this point in time, I will be voting for Stovall. And YES on all 10 propositions. Change my mind.
Prop 1 will probably get a no vote from me. Open that door and every competing my god is better than your god sect will file lawsuits demanding prayer times, animists will demand time to sacrifice chickens, etc.

Send kids to school to learn, not practice religion.

#10 is a good start, but 12 years is too damned long.

FYI, they are not propositions. They are party position questionnaires. The only thing missing was a please send $25 with the questionnaire.

Prayer can never be stopped in schools. At least not personal prayer.

I share H's concern about every sect getting into the act.

It is a shame that there is not the overwhelming consensus (not that it was every completely unanimous, but at least there was a broad tolerance for it) concerning Christianity that once fostered prayer in school. But that is no longer the case. And I don't want my grandkids someday to be compelled to take part in Muslim prayers (just one example).
