    Interesting.

"Lastly, I have a huge bright orange safety vest that has a “Security” label on it. This is worn over everything, and is intended to give momentary pause to a rookie cop or another good guy when they see me. Yes, this is legal in my state."

Yeah, that was somewhat “ wtf?” But the gist of the piece is pretty good

I guess he carries a duffle bag with the vest in it when he takes the kids to the mall. Once out of danger, I’m not sure returning to the fight is prudent. Especially if you have time to get a warning vest.

The only caveat to this would be in a church environment, where there is no where to run and a captured audience.

Some of y’all really need to do a little bit of googling on the credentials of the author of the article before reeeing “mall ninja”

I will help y’all out. Pat McNamara. Retired Delta. I would imagine he has a clue.

I didn't make it halfway through.
He may be Delta or ex-Delta, but he comes across as a Mall Ninja.

His silly article preceded his bio blurb. Maybe he oughta lead with that next time.

Its usually not so much the comprehension part folks fail at as the actual reading part. That is to actually Read not scan the first couple paragraph.....all hell we all do it.

    Me?
Just a senile old man. Don't mind me.
However, over the years, I have met a lot of people that are very, very good at what they do. Some even several things. But could not teach worth a damn.
Hell, I knew one guy that could lace the spokes on a motorcycle wheel 11 different ways. Had the patience to teach another how to do it. But he would strip every spoke trying to thread the spoke nipples on.
    Just something to think about.
Yeah, I only read part of it. And he may be really good at what he does. And he may have some really good advice in there somewhere too.
But he still comes across as a mall ninja know it all. And it could just be his writing style sucks, so I didn't bother to finish.
If you want to read it, be my guest.

Pretty much the same thing I've read/heard from others. Written a bit different along with a few additions and omissions, but pretty much the same.

Condescending, overwritten, hyper jargon, with too much self promotion. Another hyped version preparation for the one particular type of crime that exceptionally few people will ever experience. A self defense version of 'if it bleeds it leads' mentality.

Generally speaking, the article has good advice, just overdone. What I took away from it is basically maintain situational awareness. If something goes south, get out of dodge. You are responsible for your family. If not getting out of Dodge, barricade well, be prepared to fight back. It has all been said before. This article seems to be the testosterone version of run, hide, fight.

Contrary to what the author claims, having a gun does mean you are armed.
