This particular graph, updated daily, I think it's one of the best things I've found to follow. Texas is doing a fantastic job of flattening the curve given our resources, our hospitals' impressive preparatio, our social distancing, in part, facilitated by our big state and low population density.

It's prognosticators are seeing that Texas is pushing our peak deaths and peak medical resource utilization use out to about May 9.

Some may find this a mixed blessing because we are saving many lives but we are pushing our return to normal well into the summer or fall.

Saw that earlier today. The original peak date was early April based on what a commentator had shared on Reddit. That's a marked improvement. No doubt cancelling SXSW and canning the Houston Rodeo when they did helped.

The NYT made a point several times in their article about this that there was scant evidence supporting this decision.

It's as if they want this to fail.

    Yep.

Also lots of articles lying and claiming Trump said it was already approved for Covid when he never said any such thing. He only said it was a combination of FDA approved drugs.

Not to mention them blaming him for a couple on complete and utter morons drinking fish tank cleaner.

Media is showing their complete indifference to the truth and willingness to lie regardless of the consequence, and some people are showing how biased they are by believing and repeating the garbage.

    I did definitely saw that.

You may have seen Dr. Oz on Hannity/Fox yesterday, reminding us the we have no idea if chloroquine alters the course of severe COVID-19 disease.

The FDA approved it in a time of desperation, sans meaningful data.

Let us pray that the hastily approved drugs might have some efficacy.

It’s funny how you say “we have no idea” when we actually do have evidence that it does. “Meaningful data” in this case is that in the few instances it has been used the results have been positive. It’s about as meaningful as you could hope for given the circumstances.

You can keep regurgitating the “nothing can be good” garbage being pushed in the media. But there is a reason more people trust out President right now than reporters.

Is it just me, or is this contradicting itself in the same paragraph?

"The science, according to the CDC, says that surgical masks won’t stop the wearer from inhaling small airborne particles, which can cause infection. ....The agency also recommends these masks for caregivers of people infected with the virus."

No, it's jut part of the same old story. The regular folks and masses don't need surgical masks at all, because there's not enough of them. They should be reserved only for the important folks like politicians, celebrities, rich folks, oh, and those doctor and nurse types too I guess.

We are being told that infection rates in New York city are no longer increasing now that their tough stay at home order has been in effect

I sure hope so. I really believe that all these so called doomsday "experts" are based in, and making their assumptions based on places like NY city and DC where the population is much more dense and public transportation is much more popular than the rest of the country.

On another note. I turned on the TV for the first time in several days to check out the 6pm news. Dallas county judge Clay Jenkins appears to have gotten a new haircut since last time I saw him on TV. I find this interesting since Mr. Jenkins shut down every barber shop and beauty salon in his county.
