Had to stand in line yesterday to get in. Tons of "Social Distancing " rules to follow. No TP, no Eggs, no flour, few canned goods. I guess us folks out here in the hinterlands get less stuff? And now that the Gov. has extended the stay at home I figure the same retards will be out buying up all the stuff again.

On another note. I turned on the TV for the first time in several days to check out the 6pm news. Dallas county judge Clay Jenkins appears to have gotten a new haircut since last time I saw him on TV. I find this interesting since Mr. Jenkins shut down every barber shop and beauty salon in his county.

You sure he didn't just let 10lbs of air out of his head?

No, it's jut part of the same old story. The regular folks and masses don't need surgical masks at all, because there's not enough of them. They should be reserved only for the important folks like politicians, celebrities, rich folks, oh, and those doctor and nurse types too I guess.

I sure hope so. I really believe that all these so called doomsday "experts" are based in, and making their assumptions based on places like NY city and DC where the population is much more dense and public transportation is much more popular than the rest of the country.

I should correct myself and say not increasing at the same rate. I.e. the curve appears to be starting to flatten.

    Early info anyways.

Hand washing should be for a full minute with soap and very warm or hot water. The EPA registers disinfectant products by testing at 70 degrees and allowing a full 10 minute contact time. Anything outside of these parameters is not a guarantee of 100% kill. So, everyone who is using hand sanitizer as a substitute for hand washing is getting a false sense of security as are those who use a lysol wipe unless the leave the surface wet for 10 minutes.
I tend to not tell people to use hot water. They can go overboard and scald their skin.

Some were wearing masks, some had rubber gloves on (including myself). I don't think the risk is high, but once you figure how many people have opened those freezer doors, it makes sense just to err on the side of caution.
How were you using the gloves? Once you touch something you're contaminated. Most people just end up contaminating themselves and everything around them.

Considering people drank fish tank cleaner because it lists a chemical they heard on TV might treat Covid...yeah, ER would be full of people with 3rd degree burns.

COVID-19 got a little personal for me today. Found out that the husband of a coworker and good friend of my daughter fell to it, he's gone. I am going to guess he was in his mid to late thirties or young forties at the very oldest. I met him a couple of times at parties at my daughter's house. Have seen his wife more often when she came to visit my daughter and once when we had her and her kids over to our house one Christmas (don't remember for sure but think he was working or was traveling for work or something like that). Nice lady and as I recall he was a nice guy. Shame he passed so young; he leaves behind his wife and 4 young children. RIP.

Amazingly enough, I do not know anyone who has died from the flu which is more contagious and deadly than the Corona Virus so far; although, I know at least 4 people who died from AIDS which is much less contagious.

Only 7.5% of the tests in Texas came back positive.

Therefore the overwhelming majority of people who think they have it, don’t.

I don’t think the testing of people with mild symptoms matters that much.

IMHO, Everyone who is sick should quarantine for 2 weeks. Everyone who has trouble breathing should go to the hospital.

If widespread testing becomes available so the vast majority of people can get tested, that may help prevent the asymptotic spreaders.
