Well, could not PM it as there is a 420 character limit; so here it is for all to see:

And there I was thinking it was a certain type of Texans (like you and by that I just mean the pricks not the nice folks I have met here who are in the great majority) who were screwing over gun and ammo buyers during this panic. After all - where is Cheaper Than Dirt located, where were they founded, where are they from - the answer: deep in the heart of Texas:

CTD was born in Texas: Read their story here: https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/company-info/our-story/our-story.html

    Here is their current address:

    Cheaper Than Dirt!
    P.O. Box 162087
    Fort Worth, TX 76161
    Source: https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/contact-us

Now I may have forgiven CTD once, after believing they had changed their ways and would no longer screw over gun owners but I will not again. If you think it shameful or wrong or foolish to forgive though, then you and I are most definitely not of the same mold. I was brought up to allow forgiveness if it appeared someone had made amends for past transgressions. Then again, should they keep transgressing, forgiveness goes out the window. Is that what you consider New Yorking or foolish?

You, as usual when responding to one of my posts, criticize me for often using a bill of sale when I sell a firearm or for wanting one from the seller when I purchase one. You seem to think this is some type of New York phenomenon that is alien to Texas. Yet for some odd reason that does not agree with your reasoning on the subject, the Texas Gun Trader site says this:

    Source: https://texasguntrader.com/index.php?a=28&b=137.

I guess by your logic that must mean the folks at Texas Gun Trader must be foolish, anti-constitutional & especially anti 2nd Amendment; you know - like you think about New Yorkers.

Or is it my buying ammo considered New Yorking and foolish by you. You buy it (mostly 22LR as I recall from one of your previous posts in another thread) and you reload it - so what. Do you think it foolish I was planning on continuing to replenish my ammo inventory at a decent pace over the next few months but then decided to buy everything I could just recently because I saw the panic coming. I realized if I waited prices would become prohibitive (exactly as they have become) and would prevent me from replenishing my inventory as I had planned over the next few months. Was making a large purchase, recently, at less than normal prices with my discount and free shipping really your definition of being foolish and of New Yoking?

It is not a relocated New Yorker who is screwing gun owners, as you seemingly would have others believe, by selling at outrageous prices and how dare you even hint by implication I would do such. Nor is it a New Yorker who is giving Texans a bad name. No sir it is not a New Yorker but certain Texans, evidently your own kind and that comes as no big surprise to me after dealing with you in these forums. While most folks here in Texas have been friendly, welcoming, honest and fair toward me and others I know who have moved here - that has not been the way you reacted. You and your attitude, along with CTD and their practices, just go to show that even the Great State of Texas has it's nasty faults because when it comes to screwing Texans and Texas, it is other Texans like CTD and you who are doing it. CTD by astronomical pricing on ammo and you by way of destroying the friendly picture of Texans that others had before they encountered you. Thank goodness you are not the typical Texan that I have met. The typical Texan - in my experience - is a gentleman or a lady and is fair, honest, polite, courteous, well mannered, and friendly.

Me thinks thou doth protest too much

I read the entire thread, and as an unbiased outside observer, it seems that you are trying more to convince yourself than trying to convince others of your intentions. Again, just a meaningless observation with no ill will intended whatsoever.

As far as transplants from other states go, I personally welcome all who want to come here because they appreciate everything our great state has to offer and are kindred spirits as far as our tendencies towards more conservative leaning values and behaviors. These have become increasingly under attack in recent years as so many far left liberals have come here from states like California and yes New York, and have tried to turn our state into the same thing as the states they were so eager to flee from. I don’t know you at all of course, but just the fact that you are a member here and a gun enthusiast, it would seem to me that you don’t fall into that category unless proven otherwise.
Even the most die hard Texans don’t agree with each other on everything and that’s just fine. Always good to listen to other opinions and have respectful/civil debates in presenting ones point of view. Unfortunately that isn’t always the case here it seems I’m sad to say. On some subjects here, it is quite obvious that minds are made up and will never be changed so unfortunately best just to avoid those subjects I’ve found. Kinda like the old saying goes...Religion, Politics, and Bills of Sale....oh and which model of pickup truck is the best and ONLY one worth owning :)

Anyway, have a great day and be safe out there. Wishing you good health in these troubling times.

    AND Welcome to Texas! :)

Nope, I need no convincing of myself as to my own intentions, I am just long winded in speech and long worded in writing - many of my posts even on non-argumentative things are much the same, I express myself in drawn out detail.

The thing is, in this thread, I have been disrespected and misrepresented by a particular person from these forums. That person, or someone using the same sign-on ID, has done so more than once and evidently has it in for me and he keeps repeating the same old nonsense. He (or she) implies I am only conditionally pro 2nd amendment because I usually require a bill of sale for face to face gun sales and because I ask for ID, preferably a LTC, when doing a FTF sale (I get that or other documentation when doing an online sale). I am not the government and thus the 2nd Amendment has absolutely nothing to do with my sale/purchase practices and my sale/purchase practices in no way violate someone's right to keep & bear arms. I need zero convincing of that. He seems to think otherwise. He apparently also cannot stand the fact I moved here from NY and thus he seems to think I must be some sort of liberal. No matter tough, that's what the ignore function is for and it is being used now.

As I said before, most Texans I have met are quite respectful and that goes if they agree or disagree with me on any given subject. Respectful is just like you were in your post, thanks for that.

    TP about 2 months ago.
8 pounds of powder and 10K primers a week ago.
One of these days, I will unbox the reloading kit and start using it. I must have gotten in 7 or more years ago by now, opened the box, took a look, went to a reloading class and never looked at the kit again (the class was taught by someone who may have known how to reload but did not know how to teach and who had too many students in the class for him to handle). Not only am I THE Great Procrastinator but I have very little confidence in doing things, like hand loading, that I have not been trained properly how to do. So, one of these days, I will go to another class, probably after I buy a house and really settle in.

Oh don't worry, I haven't been hacked. It's really me.

If you fit my definition of being a fool or your own definition of being a prick then that's on you.

If my comments offend your sensitive Liberal nature then your ignore list is the best place for me.

I had a bathroom project that was very similar. Started it and left it for 7 years or so until I was selling the house and then finished it. Being single with two bathrooms made it easy to ignore.

Nothing more than following directions. Most any good reloading manual will have instruction more than adequate to use everything you bought. I like Hornady.

Start some place quiet and read it first. Just the part for what you want to do, pistol or rifle. Then start over with a dozen or so empty shells and the rest of the supplies to do a dozen.

Read the first step, do the first step. Read the second step, do the second step.

    It really is that easy.

If you run in to any thing you aren't sure of STOP right there, mark your spot in the book. Read through the directions again starting at the begining out to the end and a lot of times if will start to make sense when you see what is coming next or you may catch something you missed up to that point and an "ah ha" moment occurs.

If you are still flummoxed come on back right here and we will all get ya through it.

I learn much better when through multiple inputs. Listening to instructions is one thing, reading or viewing good instructions another, having hand on lessons taught to me another. The more the better to get it all to sink in. I may watch a few online videos about it.

Sounds like the tapes I used when in college. "Where there is a will there is a way". They taught see it, say it, hear it, do it and write it. If you do that multiple times it will make it stick in your brain better. I used this technique with great success. Still do when needed.

I also just bought a Refurbished Strike Eagle 1-6X24 RIFLESCOPE from AA Optics. $235 is a good price.

My teaching motto, "Tell me. Show me. Let me try. Repeat as needed." but ya rarely get everything ya want and even more rarely for free. Some times I have to just make do.

Maybe now but not when I used to tell kids ghost stories around a campfire.

I keep what I consider to be a reasonable supply, and I DON'T buy during a panic. I don't want to contribute to the problem, and I don't want to get gouged on price.

Same here. I like to buy low and sell high, which also helps smooth the price curve for everyone else, by injecting supply into the market when it's constrained.

I got amusement from people's behavior, especially everyone buying their first gun with no intention of putting in the time it takes to be proficient.

I got caught up on yard work thanks to my two kids staying home from school.

I had the rest of the stuff I need already.

My prediction is that about 6 months from now the used gun ("like new") market will be red hot.
