Guess what walked into the store a few days ago.

A Sig Sauer P229. Just the plain version, no Legend or anything fancy.

I just made my first payment today.

I guess the P229 was just an appetizer to warm me up for this.

And, I even have a picture!

    9mm?

They make a Rubber pacmyer grip that makes that gun pleasant to shoot.

Is it unpleasant to shoot otherwise? It shouldn't be. It's 34.4 oz. That's a lot of recoil mitigation!

First thing to buy is magazines. It comes with 2 10rd mags. Yuk.

No, not unpleasant, but the rubber grip makes it nice. I have a 228 (9) and 229 (40). My favorites.

    Sig makes 15 round mags.

I just don't feel the need for a whole poopload of rounds. I know, one can never tell what they might need but ............ I'm just not as concerned as most of the folks are here on the forum about having 12 to 15 rds. (or more) to feel comfortable. I carry a medium or small 1911 with 8 or 9 rounds of 45 and and spare mag and don't feel uncomfortable about that. But, then again, I don't live in a "city" full of crime and dirt bags.

If those mags are marked 229-1, I could use a couple more. I'll be traveling some through enemy territory, and that competition I have coming up has a ten round loaded mag. limit.

    Nice buy, by the way.

    Yes, 9mm.
If 1o rounds doesn't do it!, you're in the wrong place or a crappy shooter! :green:
But, the 10rd mags aren't flat on the bottom. They have a huge indentation on the bottom. So, I tap the bottom to load a mag and . . . . surprise!
congrats on your P229! i am trying to find a P229 compact legion ... the time will fly and the payments will be over before you know it...please post your thoughts once you get to shoot it :)
It's gonna be a while. It's the most expensive gun I've ever bought. So, about 5 weeks.
