I had a Martini action made into a .218 Mashburn Bee. Nice little gun for prairie dogs and the like. Don't have the gun or the dies anymore, I was always trading and buying and selling back in the day. JJ

For the most part I try to keep my calibers within the most common, but the most uncommon I do shoot is a Winchester 1892 38-40 rifle with the octagonal barrel.

The ammo isn't super cheap so I do reload that, along with .308.

I used to have a Makarov that shot the 9mm "short" Makarov rounds. Still available at Academy and a few other places. I used that gun in my CHL class years ago. I have to admit that my wife borrowed a Glock 17 from our daughter and out scored me a bit on the range part of the class.

I still have a "thing" for the strange and obscure. The interesting thing is some of my used to be obscure calibers are now somewhat mainstream.

i shoot a lot of 22 short . My Grandfather showd me rat hunting with 22 shorts in his Remington 552 Speedmaster. Still some.of the best fun vatmint.hunting ever.

I have a couple that aren’t really unusual but aren’t very common either. 22 Hornet and 375 H&H mag.
My mom has my dads old 32 S&W but I’ve never had the opportunity to shoot it.

It's a Wildcat cartridge that some friends and I came up with while drinking.

A 50 BMG necked down to .17. It would have probably spawned a new world record for velocity, if we had not chambered an Encore barrel for it and gone with the rifle idea instead.

Seriously though, I have several old Axis rifles and carbines. The 8X56R Hungarian is probably the hardest to find, but it's not that difficult. It is used in a very light Steyr M95 Carbine, straight pull bolt action. It's got swastikas all over it. I like to watch newbies shoot it... Hey, they ask me if they can so I let them.

I load and shoot a fair number of calibers that many have no idea even existed. Among them, 9mm Largo, 10.4 Glisenti, 25 Remington, 30 Remington, 35 WSL, 351 WSL, 8x50R Mannlicher, 8x56R Mannlicher, 8x60R Kropatschek, 10.4 Swiss Vetterli, and others as well.
Have to admit, I can't consider many of the cartridges named here as "oddball", just because you can't go to Academy or Cabela's and buy them off the shelf.

I forgot to mention earlier. I also have a 16 gauge pump. That ammo isn't very common. As a matter of fact, when I do find it, it's usually more expensive than 12 gauge.
