Most guns I shoot are in everyday/common calibers but I have one rifle in a somewhat offbeat caliber if only because of its age and because the caliber was surpassed by something better. That caliber would be 7x57mm Mauser for my Mauser Chileno 1895.

One or two others I shoot might be considered a bit offbeat by some - 22 Short (not all that popular anywhere) and 32ACP (not a very popular caliber in this country) but the 7mm Mauser is about the most unusual I currently have in inventory.

The most offbeat caliber I have ever shot, in a centerfire firearm, was 7.5x55mm Swiss in the Schmidt Rubin 1911 that I used to own.

My new Henry lever action 45-70 was a very common caliber in the frontier days although they are less common now. It has been certified to hunt the larger game in Africa, I believe, so it's a real addition to the armory. I'll sit on my back porch of the evening and any rhinoceros that breaks through the picket fence is headed for the last round-up (if rhinos do round up?)

Oh yeah, almost forgot it's been a long time since it's been out of the safe. 8mm Remington Magnum (Rem mdl 700 BDL). It draws blood on both ends.

Not really all that offbeat, but I do shoot 44-40. Still shoot 7.5x55 Swiss.

I'm not being critical, but just curious as why buy guns that are expensive to shoot, if you don't reload?

There are many other calibers that can do just as well, but much cheaper to shoot.

And if I see my way thru this Kung Flu ordeal
I will start reloading. Those two were just too good deals to pass up .

I have all the gear to reload all of mine including the expensive (.300wby, .450 Bushmaster, .500 S&W). I'm kind of afraid to because I don't know how. I have a F#$k ton of once fired brass for when I start though!
