I’d have to say the most offbeat caliber I shoot is 9x25 Dillon.

I do shoot a few non-mainstream calibers though; 41 Mag, 458 Socom, 6.5x47 Lapua, 454 Casull, and to a lesser extent 45 Colt. Working on building a Remington Sendero 220 Swift.

Most guns I shoot are in everyday/common calibers but I have one rifle in a somewhat offbeat caliber if only because of its age and because the caliber was surpassed by something better. That caliber would be 7x57mm Mauser for my Mauser Chileno 1895.

One or two others I shoot might be considered a bit offbeat by some - 22 Short (not all that popular anywhere) and 32ACP (not a very popular caliber in this country) but the 7mm Mauser is about the most unusual I currently have in inventory.

The most offbeat caliber I have ever shot, in a centerfire firearm, was 7.5x55mm Swiss in the Schmidt Rubin 1911 that I used to own.
The 7x57 is a sweet shooter. As is it's big brother the 8x57. I don't reload anymore but still own rifles in their short mag cousins, the 7WSM and 325WSM. Both great but way off the beaten path.

I just thought it maybe a bit offbeat here in TX as I have heard it is in places like Montana and Wyoming where you likely have more of a chance at longer range shots, and at larger game, than you'd probably take with a 30-30. Not that they are not used there either, just much less frequently than in the NE where shots on deer are often less than 75-100 yards.
30-30 is perfect in the Texas hill country.

Funny I did not think of that one, maybe because while I have a Remington Model 31 in 16, I hardly ever shoot it. Makes it offbeat for me anyway. I suppose that while 16 gauge guns are out there, not many people shoot them.
I forgot about that one too. I have a Remington in 16 ga

    Let's see. I don't consider .220 Swift, 6.5 BR, 7 BR, various .32s or .35 Rem to be offbeat.

I do, however, consider my 7x47 to be a bit out of the ordinary. It's not the big rifle cartridge, though; it's the much smaller pistol cartridge based on the .222 Rem. Magnum. It's a joy to shoot. I haven't run across anyone else with one in decades; I guess that qualifies it as an oddball.

My 8x56R, 7.62x38R, and 9.3x57 are all pretty off beat. None of them hold a candle to 10.4x38R known more commonly as 41 Swiss. It's a heck of a process to make the brass out of 8mm Lebel, the rifle has to be converted from rimfire to centerfire, and did I mention it's a black powder cartridge?

If you don't reload, the round is a no go. I think some place was making it a few years back, but IIRC, it was over $100 for a box of 20. I don't remember if it was rimfire or centerfire. You can buy centerfire brass for about $2 a piece.

I also shoot the 9.3x57. and 10.4x38R. I used .348 Winchester Brass to convert to the .41 Swiss.
