The instructor should have refrained from spouting bullshit.
It varies from person to person. How fast the feds do the background check is the primary driver in how long it takes.

That’s true but I guess there is always an “average waiting time”

Let me tell you, if you log in to their site and try sending them a copy of your paperwork use Internet Explorer or Firefox. Do not use Chrome or Safari (as I did) they do not work properly and finally got someone there to tell me this.

Odd. I have only used safari for the last 10 years for every registration, class attendance record, instructor renewal, etc I have done through DPS and it has worked fine.

My move to Texas will be completed by April 1. I'll need to find a place that does the class, take the class, and submit my stuff. I guess my wait begins now.

I did all of mine on line except for the range qualification. I think I was the first to do the online class work. I went to the drivers license office was finger printed and they sent them and photo in. All paperwork was done online except for printing the form out and letting the range officer sign it. After sending it back in I received the license in about two weeks.

Wifey and I submitted and fulfilled all requirements Feb. 22, 2020.

Did not get an e-mail confirmation. Talked to an operator on the 24th and said that they received all the requirements. The wait begins.

    Will report here for progress.

Print pending. Just right on time. Start to finish was about a month. Just when times are getting crazy. I really thought this was gonna be put on hold with the current COVID19 Pandemic.

My print pending was posted right at the 45 day mark for my renewal. Hopefully it will be here this week. If the State doesn't shut down.

Just curious did you receive your LTC yet? If so how long did it take from the print pending to receiving it in the mail?
Both the wife and mines status changed this morning from background check to print pending just curious.

    Print Pending - March 19.

    Mailed - March 23.

LTC Card on hand - March 29.

I really thought it’d be delayed with the situation. But it seems they are working on it.
