    Not creative enough. Essential is silly. Some essential jobs are too close, while'st my apparently non-essential real estate photography portion of the job, and flying a drone, may not be essential, but requires almost 0 contact with other humans. So this is BS. I should be able to do my job if I can adequately social-distance. And it's further BS because I can still go out and do essential stuff on a construction contract or say I'm gathering "news" (which I've actually done before).

    Also we need to instead of quarantining the well, just quarantine the sick and those providing care for them and the elderly. It would be cheaper to shut ONLY them in and provide services to keep them from having to go out.

    Premise based on real-life US federal actions where a cabinet member is safely sequestered away during events like State of the Union addresses. You can easily guess the main story line.


    Anyway, to my point:
    Season 2, Episode 3.
    10/11/2017 release. Entitled "Outbreak".
    Storyline is the federal response to a virulent spreading deadly viral epidemic that started in a Chinese animal market.

    Amazing the number of uncannily similar parallels.
    It's as though the the screenplay writers of Designated Survivor traveled this China to engineer to current pandemic storyline!!!

    If a COVID vaccine proves to be like measles or polio or smallpox this pandemic will abruptly and definitively end. As a perk we may finally find a truely effective influenza vaccine. Bonus!!

    If, on the other hand, the virus and an eventual COVID vaccine is ultimately similar in behavior to seasonal influenza we may be re-living this next April.

    I've rarely, if ever, found myself saying "we don't know" so blazingly often to those seeking answers.

    Well I'd say thing are already crazy, largely due to the media and local politicians love for the spotlight by creating mass hysteria, but I know what you mean and wish you the best of luck if it is even half as bad as they want us to believe.

    And if / when it is, I can only imagine how much more dire the media will try to make it sound like next. I also see where Europe is toying with a tracking function on cell phones using bluetooth for contact tracing. Europe has much more stringent anti-tracking laws in place, but I expected the media will point to contact tracing as something we need to do here (without the same protections)

    You really should stop with the comparisons of covid-19 to any military stuff. You apparently understand less about military fatalities or injuries than you do the beer virus.

    Yes of course the familes of those lost on D-Day mourned their loss. But that was about 1% of all fatalites in WW2. What about the other 99%'s families? Was their loss not important?

    You're a "medical consultant". What's the leading cause of death in the US for the last 5 years and what's the average number of deaths from that cause? It's still outpacing covid-19, but you don't seem to be concerned with that?
