Why do you prefer it to CFE? Talk me in to switching.

I use H335 & CFE. H335 for 62gr and under, CFE for anything bigger. I can't pack enough CFE in a case to get the velocity I want with the smaller bullets even with a compressed load, which i don't like to do anyway.
I load some 55gr DRT frangible with CFE when I can afford them, that have the same bearing surface as a 68gr HP. They are absolute tack drivers out to 300.

Cfe is not listed as temp stable but depending on your shooting habits or standards you may never know. For temp stability and good for progressive/metering look at alliant ar comp, h4895 or imr8208xbr in 223.

Winchester 748. Pretty much anything you can use Varget for, you can use 748. I use it for .223, .308. 30-30, .375 Win, and 6.5 Grendel. Winchester uses it in the majority of their ammo in the popular calibers. It's a nice medium burn powder, meters well, engineered to have a low flame temperature. Back in the late 90's or early 00's I decided to get an "all purpose powder" to cover all my rifle loadings for when/if it became difficult to get. When the shelves are out of Varget you can still find W748.

I dug through my reloading bible over the weekend and found a 223 load that I used W748 on. They shot well too. Forgot I did that one.
