Having decided to standardize on 9mm post "COVID", the two top candidates seem to be GLOCK 19 vs Sig P365.

One major reason for G19 is magazine supply & adaptability to other weapons, such as the new Ruger 9mm Carbines.

IF you have significant experience with these specific two handguns, please give your thoughts here.

Thanks to all, but I'm asking ONLY those actually experienced with both to respond here.

    I have owned a Glock 19 since 1991. I briefly had a P365 last year.

The Glock is like an AR, simple to work on or to replace parts, aftermarket parts out the wazoo, cheap magazines, can use the 17 round magazines from a Glock 17 or the 33 round magazines. Parts and accessories for the G19 are everywhere.

I'd heard all of the good things about the P365 and I had to have one. Maybe I'm just very comfortable with the Glock platform but, the Sig just didn't work for me. I couldn't shoot it as well as my G43. The extra few rounds in the magazine was nice but that was not enough to win me over. The Sig is not as user friendly to work on and there are few, if any, aftermarket parts.

Two completely different pistols. The SIG P365 is a tiny gun compared to a Glock G19, both in size and magazine capacity. Depending on what you're going to be doing with the pistol would dictate my choice. Going for concealment? The 365 is the obvious choice. Need an all around pistol with decent concealability but suited for larger sized hands go with the G19. You stated that a major advantage for the Glock was magazine supply & adaptability to other weapons. If that is truly important to you then you've got no choice but the G19. Both are fine pistols but meant for totally different uses.

As noted about, these guns are night and day. I sold my G19 probably 15 years ago. I just don't care for Glocks. They don't fit my hand well, and I can't shoot them well either. I had owned the P365 for about 2 weeks before it became my pocket EDC. No single gun is the perfect gun for everyone and every job. If you prefer Glocks and shoot them well, I'd recommend the 43 or 43X for an easy concealed gun or a 19 for all around shooting. If Glocks aren't your thing, the P365 with 10 round mags are defintiley small enough to ride in my front jeans pocket. If a little larger is what you're looking for, the P365XL with 15 round mags shoots like riding in a Cadillac, but it's too big for pocket carry.

    That's a tough one. I like both a lot.

My simple answer is.... which ever one feels good in your hand and you group the best with.

    Have ya shot either one?

Of course, have owned several GLOCK'S, including a couple G19's & a G26. The 19was EDC, the 26 is now. Bought a P365, but immediately gave it to our LEO/ATF Kid, unfired.

BTW he is a modern sidearms "expert", w multiple NRA Police Instructoor certifications, owns both among numerous others, and gave the same advice as I am getting here.

Looks that I may need a P365 for EDC and several G19's for SHTF. I recently gave-up on EDC w/ the Smith Scandium J-frame b/c difficulty w/ "speed-loaders", none of which worked well, even with practice.

    Thanks for replies, please keep-on.

I have both. P365 is a BUG if I could also carry the 19 due to above reasons plus tried and true design. P365 had primer drag issues at first. Mine is flawless after 500 rounds but I'd buy the tool steel striker and put another 200 rounds in it before I'd trust it.

I am a glock fan, and i hate the current sig, so keep that in mind

The g19 is about as proven as you can get, its been out on the market for like what, 30ish years? The 365 has been out less than 5.

The G19 has lots of military and police contracts.

The G19 is simple, its easy to dive in and inspect/replace any part shoud it be needed.

The 365 is smaller, holds the same amount, and doesn't shoot that bad despite its size

Mags are cheaper and easier to find with glocks.

Neither glock nor sig has a flawless track record, but sig is having their issues now, and not 25 years ago
