I went to Krogers today (because I've seen the parking lots on Friday and Saturday and don't want to mess with the recent crowd of crazy's).

I was at the deli counter getting some lunch meat when this fairly attractive girl walked up and stood at the other end of the counter. She was wearing a mask, but had to wait since myself and one other individual were already there. She started adjusting her mask. Just a little at first, then went to full, two hands adjusting, including sticking both hands inside the mask several times to try and stretch it out and get it to fit right.

I thought to myself, I can't stop touching my face, but I don't think I touch my face as many times as I've seen her put her fingers inside her mask.

I guess the positive side is, if she was sick, at least her cough would be contained from going airborne. Even though everything she touched would be contaminated.

My boss sent out an email last weekend that said since the CDC had done a 180 the company was “encouraging” the use of a mask. Further down the email when he was tying it all up it said “Wear a mask”, in addition to other things the email said they were encouraging or asking employees to do.

I showed up Monday with no mask and was surprised to see most everyone else wearing one. I was the only supervisor without one. Same thing Tuesday and I think I got a cross look from my boss that I would dare to do it two days in a row. By Wednesday it was a given I wasn’t wearing one. Another supervisor asked why I wasn’t and I said it wasn’t required and reminded him of exactly what the email said.

I expected an email stating they were required but it hasn’t come yet. I’ll wear it then but for now it’s only encouraged. Having spent all time reading military rules and regulations prepared me for this.

Wearing one when inside a store shopping, started very recently. Not so much for me cause it is worn over my beard but to protect others in the event I cough and happen to unknowingly spew forth the demon seed of the disease of the millennium. Even if not for that, I've had an infection in my nasal passages and do not want to spread that; antibiotics seem to be working so no worry that it's the dread pirate Roberts the virus.
