So what's your point? So is KY jelly.
Ballistol is safe on metal, wood, and leather...but it will stain the leather...like any other oil, while it preserves it.Ballistol is safe on wood too.
Be care full with brake cleaner! It does clean great, to great. Mechanic I know use to use it, because he always had it around. He found out the hard way, that if moving parts ar not relubercated they can & will gall!Ballistol is great! That having been said, for my initial cleaning of the internal works of my weapons, I use non-chlorinated brake cleaner. Yes, you have to use it outdoors, it's flammable and it stinks, but boy howdy does it take the bulk of the grime off quickly. Then, at the bench I fine clean with Ballistol, the smell of which I actually like!
