    To All,

IF you happen to be within easy driving distance of ALAMO STREET & SOUTH FLORES in SATX, carefully drive around the south side of the SALVATION ARMY store, drive behind the SA store & look for a SMALL sign that says: BLUE STAR.

Blue Star is a VERY LOCAL mini-brewery that has GREAT draft beer "on premises".
(The ONLY place that I know of that sells their beer "off premises" is the private German Club about a mile away.)

    yours, satx

    . . . Hands down favorite I've discovered is a vanilla porter

I’ve got some Breckinridge Brewery Vanilla Porter in the fridge and will hoist one tonight when the baby back ribs come off the Big Green Egg. It is a really tasty beer.

But in the heat of summer I like something a little lighter. Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy is outstanding and very refreshing on a hot day.

Last night I tried out my first IPA, a Shiner Wicked Juicy IPA. It was pretty good. Enjoyed it with my pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Just got finished with a Shiner Premium that I also enjoyed. So far, U haven't had one out of that six or twelve pack that I didn't enjoy.

IPA tends to go well with spicy foods.

    The day's first.

Those of you who had chosen Newcastle Broon must not have had it recently, tastes like brown Heineken now.

Yeah, I agree. Newcastle Brown was good when it was made in Newcastle in the UK but last year it was purchased by Heineken and the brewery was moved to the Lagunitas Brewery in Chicago. They changed it from a classic English brown ale to just another mediocre IPA. A once really nice beer now tastes like carbonated Chicago river water.
