    I figured you had
    Your like Forrest Gump
    You've met everyone

    vmax; ZX9RCAM; Davetex; All,

IF & WHEN you have worked VIP security for over 6 years (as I did) & met literally hundreds of famous people, you too will KNOW that you saw/shook hands with/were smiled at by the celebrity BUT not even 1 in 500, ten-thirty minutes later, will remember your face. = Furthermore, IF you are even "a bit smarter than the average rock", you will SOON understand that not only do the VIPs NOT know you, they do NOT want to know you AND in 99% of cases that they don't even see you.
(The personnel of all the various "alphabet soup" state/federal agencies, who do this work, are trained to be "pleasant", smiling, helpful, vigilant & essentially INVISIBLE.)

MOST LIKELY at least a FEW of the people that Forrest Gump supposedly met in the movie MIGHT have remembered him.
Otoh, very few "special security people" are even SEEN, much less remembered 10 minutes later by the people that they protect from harm.
(Truthfully, the people that the VIP & "higher authority" does remember in 99.99% of the cases are the ones who "screwed up" the mission & maybe got them injured or killed.)

    FACT.

    To All,

Has anyone heard this afternoon (It's 1320 hours, 24MAY20, as I ask.) what LTC West's condition is?
(I've had the news on the radio since about 1000 & have heard ZILCH.)

Just now from his Facebook Page...

    "Team West update:

LTC West is resting and in stable condition. We anticipate him being released tomorrow and heading home. Thank you for your prayers and support. He will be taking a week off to recoup and looks forward to seeing you all again soon."

Near Dallas I believe. He's a Lt. Col. in the Texas State Guard.
    That’s cool...
But you do know, that you and me could be a Lt Col in the State Guard if we wanted to.. (Partly kidding but partly not). Its like Boy Scouts for bigger guys.. I’m pretty sure everyone gets the same pay and you have to buy your own uniforms

    vmax,

"I'm pretty sure" that you know NOTHING about the State Guard. - The TSG only gets paid when they are ON State Active Duty.

They are VOLUNTEERS, who do IMPORTANT relief work for floods, tornados, hurricanes & other similar duty, WHEN NEEDED, just as I'm a VOLUNTEER for the TPWD.
(We volunteers do IMPORTANT things, that the State couldn't afford people to be paid for doing, full-time.)

Btw, the VAST majority of TSG members are RETIRED US military. = Like 80% are military retirees.

FACTS are good things to know, rather than believing NONSENSE & spouting FOOLISHNESS.

As a veteran of the US military, I looked into joining the TSG a few years ago. I spent a good amount of time talking to them and looking into it and decided it wasn’t for me.
    So kiss my ass sir.
