Sounds really interesting. Got the safe covered (with NFA weapons you better) and insuring ammo would be interesting although quantities would be hard to prove for settlement as it is a rather fluid asset. Do they insure NFA weapons and is it an annual payment? Thanks for checking this out so thoroughly. Sounds like a new insurer for me also.

Though I didn't ask about NFA specifically ,this was his reply to me:

In home Safes ARE NOT required. Accessories such as OPTICS, cases, suppressors, silencers, magazines ARE COVERED.

We cover contemporary Ammo up to a limit of $5K.

I was happy to see that he put a number on ammo. I think $5000 is fair considering it's a consumable.

What about serial number and/or "valuable" items?

There are two policies, one where you can schedule each item and one where you do not have to. With the later, you estimate the replacement cost and add up from there I believe, but, unfortunately I deleted the attachment :beat: the guy sent me, so I beyond that, I don't want to attempt a half ass explanation. I did request he resend the attachment again, but I am going to have to wait. I will post more when I do, but If any of you want to contact him directly, here is his details:

Or if you want to start from their website with your own quote, just go right to their site. They have been very quick to reply.

    Thanks!

ETA: curious how they could just take people's word on what they actually possess?

They only require appraisals on items over $10k.

If you file a claim you're going to have to show proof of ownership. You can suddenly say you owned a dozen Wilson Tactical Supergrade Professionals.

It's why I keep a detailed list, description, serial number, attachments and such as well as pictures of everything.

Stupid question, but that means actually taking the gun somewhere for a "written" appraisal I guess.

Waiting for Eastern to contact me back, but based on the quote I just got from Collectibles, it looks like Eastern will be less expensive by about $13 per $10,000 annually (based on numbers provided in this thread). If that holds true, I'll be signing up with Eastern this week.

What is the cost per $10k?

ETA: When you find out that is, please.

Well, I went with Collectibles after getting the quote from Eastern. Eastern's quote was almost identical to Collectibles, and I'd already gotten farther along in the process applying with Collectibles (Eastern took several days to get back to me, Collectibles was just a few hours). Eastern's quote emphasized my location (Houston), so that's why I figured it came out higher than some of the quotes others here have gotten from them.

For the first time ever, I recently bought some renter's insurance. A $25,000 policy from Farmers for $16-something per month. I went ahead and paid for the whole year.
