It's clear that the world these kids are growing up in doesn't mirror reality. Look at the fat blonde chick getting detained (2:50). Her screams and face show utter disbelief in what is happening to her. While we sit here and say, "Well, duh!," she seems to be under the impression that detention by the police wasn't something even remotely possible.
Exactly what I saw too....
I think it was/is a mistake to treat them so soft, virtually guarantees a repeat. If ever there was a justification for "shock and awe" this was it.
Water cannons, substantial arrests, zero tolerance for looting and arson.
I don't usually advocate a heavy hand and it's my experience LEO needs a complete renovation top to bottom to demilitarize and return them to "protect and serve", respect in contacts has long gone missing.
That said this was not peaceful protest or simple civil disobedience, this was anarchy and should be snuffed before it roots.
Obvious the issues run deeper with the corruption of the media, the indoctrination of academia, the decline of societal morals and a litany of systemic ills but you have to start someplace.
ETA: and just to throw a little gas on the fire... we need to do it while us "boomers" are still alive because the generations behind don't have the smarts or the intestinal fortitude.
