I hear what you’re saying; I was watching this live from an overhead view last night...I’m pretty near certain SAPD (not DPS) is who responded, though you don’t see it on the camera. SAPD was very specific their use of force continuum was LTL to disperse.
There’s a bunch of random folks downtown right now cleaning up...the city isn’t doing squat that I can see.

They got a lot less than they deserved. I'd prefer nobody got shot ever (just like I'd prefer nobody looted ever), but I have a hard time feeling bad for a looter getting shot.
At this point I think it needs to be treated as an insurrection and dealt with as such.
It works and I enjoyed watching that one too.
The trash has learned that less than lethal ( gas, pepper balls, flashbangs etc) are just that ( generally not lethal but irritating ) and are responding accordingly, as in becoming emboldened.
The only thing that has been shown to deter/stop these insurgents is lethal force.
There will be no pepper spray in my EDC. OC just takes up space an extra magazine can use.

I'm not sure how I'd honestly argue with this, even if I wanted to. What else do you call it when foreign interests and domestic agitation groups run by foreigners are engaged in rioting and destroying our cities and subverting the democratic process with specific political goals? Maybe attack, from the foreign interests, or sedition. But insurrection seems to apply.
