And according to the hospital systems, the reason for the spike in ICU usage is not Covid patients, but in those that were not able to get regular treatments and are now so bad off they have no choice. That and what is now considered "a covid case" is purposely skewing the numbers to justify stupidity and bowing to the fear mongers.
I will not give in to fear. Period. I'm going to a family BBQ timorrow.

    WITHOUT A FUCKING MASK.

Interesting all the criticism of Abbott with no claim to a solution. Closes bars as the clients won't act right. Bars gripe they get closed do to alcohol sales. Well, just serve food for a while. You might not die from not wearing a mask but someone else might. Acting like the spoiled kids. I didn't mind the coved test at the hospital today, they did a blood test too. Object to that on constitutional basis? Silly.
No "solution" is necessary. Why the red herring? Sounds like you just like being ruled.

    That place east of Waco....
Dr. Steven Holtze has at least one lawsuit pending with SCOTX....waiting on a hearing. Wayne Norred, (Shelly Luther's lawyer), has one or two suits. The Texas Association of Bars and Restaurants is suing. I'm sure there's more in the court system.

Here's something else....if your state reps aren't calling for Abbott to be impeached, stay on their butts until they do. I may finally be getting through Cody Harris ' thick skull....but Schwertner will still need work.

You want everything shut down every flu season? Go right ahead and comply. No complaints from you when the executive overreach gets worse and intrudes to a degree that you start to care.

There are times to draw a line.

This ain't the black plague. It is no worse than the flu.

    Quick question.
Wasn't it Abbot that said there was no legal provision to fine citizens for not wearing a mask?????

He said there wasn't one unless it came from him. Which apparently just means that he wants the little dick-taters to know that he's the big dick-tater.

This is exactly where this is headed. Government always does a test run of "new" powers, to see what the serfs will tolerate before they start using that power regularly.

"Just wear the fucking mask" say some - "what does it hurt to wear a mask" "I'm a nurse and I have to wear one eight hours a day" "but Fauci says wear a mask now" "it won't kill you to wear a mask" - none of the people spewing this shit get it. NO single elected official has the authority to create law or hand out edicts to the public that are not backed by written, properly codified law. It is an abuse of power and authority, and if left unchecked will be just another small step down the long, painful death march of the Republic.

IF a law stating one MUST wear a mask is to be had - there are legislatures to be convened in special sessions that can then craft appropriate laws that then may be signed into law by the various governors. Those laws must still be in compliance with the state and federal Constitutions.

Here are some examples of "reasonable" actions if one takes them voluntarily, but amount to drastic abuses of executive authority when "ordered" by any executive official:

    - wear a mask
    - vaccinate yourself and your children
    - do not gather with people outside your home
    - submit to regular medical examination
    - wear / don't wear specific clothing items

Each one of those things individually, and situationally, may make sense if you make the educated, reasoned decision to do so. But when some dictatorial power hungry turd, regardless of political affiliation, decides that you WILL do something - no, that's no bueno and flies against our Constitution.

Wear a mask = put on this arm band
Vaccinate yourself and your children = take this experimental shot
Do not father with people outside your home = you may not protest or freely associate with others
Wear / Don't wear specific clothing = This brown shirt is OK, but if you wear that red hat we're going to jail you or beat you.

You may think these are a stretch, but they're not. We're already seeing morality policing happening in this country. Two cops in Atlanta are facing serious prison time for a legal use of force, because the angry mob and a political hack of a DA don't give a damn about circumstance. We're seeing a married couple in St Louis facing criminal charges for defending themselves against a mob of hundreds of people who broke into their private community and started threatening them, because an angry mob demands it. We're seeing mayors, county executives, governors and other government officials taking sides - often siding with the extreme left - in the escalating civil war we're embroiled in. They've allowed "autonomous zones" and "occupied zones" to be established, which has directly lead to the deaths, assaults, rapes, and extortion of other Americans. Allowing any abuse to go without complaint just makes it easier for those who WILL come for you. So while it may well seem "reasonable" to just go-along with such nonsense, its not, because that's just giving in and making it that much easier for them to do it next time.

The excuses to abuse you will get sillier until they just drop the facade and openly attack and abuse you without excuse.

It would make more sense though to wait till 2022 when there is actually a Governor election.

Libertarians might start their campaign now - because it may take them that long to whip up or find a good candidate to run, and they can build support. Starting a run in 2022 probably won't get enough time to get the person known and build support
