Do you really need sources to assure you that advertising the fact, on your car, that you are a gun owner would be akin to an invitation for an opportunist burglar? I have been pulled over only rarely by the police for any kind of supposed traffic violation; however, some of the few times I was pulled over (when I was certain I had done nothing wrong) I had pro-gun stickers like NRA stickers on my car. One cop, after finding out I was a retired federal agent, commented on the sticker I had on my bumper in which the Gadsden flag was displayed along with the logo Unorganized Militia Propaganda Corps (Same one as at the link). He made every indication (without actually saying outright) that sticker was why I was pulled over. Another cop on another stop told me outright that sticker and an NRA sticker were why I was pulled over; he figured I had guns in the car (go figure where was the probably cause of a crime for the stop but that was in NYistan). Anything that brings unwanted attention can trigger a response from someone with an interest in what you display and crooks sure do like to steal guns. Whether its cops or criminals, I no longer advertise to avoid inadvertently attracting either.

Do I think crooks check out bumper sticker I doubt many do.

I think they walk up and see if the door is unlocked look at the pull or use the handle. If door opens and no alarm sounds they loot.

    or

They walk up to car see free stuff sitting in the vehicle smash the glass grab and go.

I would hazard an opinion that this is much more likely a case than what decals are displayed. Thieves tend to pick the easier targets.

Twice in my life, I have had vehicles vandalized. Both had nothing to do with any decals that I had displayed. Hmmm...now how would I know that? Simple both times, quite a few vehicles in the apartment complex were vandalized. One instance, my truck was parked next to my brother's truck, and both were vandalized.

Get a lot of thumbs up from folk. I usually try to position myself at a stoplight in front of a car with a Robert Francis O'Rourke sticker, just for S&G's.

I love that bumper sticker. I need to buy something from there so I can get one. Do they still throw one into the box when you order some other item?

I prefer to be the grey man in my POV. But do t care what others do.

There you go. Every time I think I want to make a statement, such as "Keep San Angelo Backwards" or "Coexist" (spelled out with firearm brands) for example, I think again. There are too many delicate flowers who are easily triggered and who mostly do not have the guts to say something directly to a person. Instead, they would vandalize a vehicle.

These two are the only political stickers I've ever put on a car.

Oh, I also had an NRA sticker and a "terrorist hunting permit" on my Chevy pickup I had ten years ago. No pic of those, tho. I sure as shit wouldn't put a NRA sticker on anything now.

And think about this. Someone that sees such a decal, gets bent out of shape enough to attack an inanimate object, has some really deep-seated mental issues!
Yes they probably do have deep seated mental issues, just like all the evil shitheads we all have seen on the news lately who have been looting, rioting, maiming and killing people. You should see what some of the nuts have done when I have my Trump 2020 magnets on the back end of my trunk lid but then those were all in NYistan.

Put the sticker on a liberal's vehicle. They will throw a screaming fit and someone will vandalize their vehicle. Win/Win
I have an army reserve friend who somehow gets Marine Corps decals on his truck for drill weekends. I hope he catches the vandals. LOL!

Unfortunately, most of the things that mean enough to me to want to share my love with the world also make the vehicle automatic targets of would-be thieves and ne'er do wells.
