Yes, paying hospitals is a strong incentive. That is more evidence that we need government out of healthcare.

The nurse ER referencing has no idea if you had COVID-19 or not. She gave an opinion based on your history. I can do the same thing. I don't care if you believe her. I just want you to admit there's no objective evidence.

    TX OMFS,

SORRY a COL (Retired) of the Army Nurse Corps who is a NURSE PRACTIONER knows a GREAT DEAL MORE than I do about the subject, so NO I won't admit that you are correct, when you are NOT correct, with a likelihood of 99% that your opinion is in error. - Persons who have the SAME SYMTOMNS as COVID19 patients, have HAD/survived the virus.= Admitting that you are correct & COL B_________ is wrong, when I know better, would be LYING.
(Do YOU have "special knowledge" that makes you more likely correct, without possessing her expertise/experience, than the Colonel is?? = Are you a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL or are you just stating your UNTRAINED/UNKNOWING personal opinion????)

    SATX,

Can't coronavirus symptoms be exactly the same as basic flu symptoms?

Without testing, how can one unequivocally state you had coronavirus?

    TX OMFS,

Without OBVIOUS professional training as a medical professional (I note that you have NOT stated what, if any, medical credentials that you have/do NOT have.) that neither of us seem to have, I see no point whatever in continuing this NEEDLESS (and frankly getting quickly SILLY) discussion.

IF the latest "rumor" (I'm "cleared" for hearing "latrine gossip" - CHUCKLE.) that I've heard about USAMEDDAC wanting military volunteers as "plasma donors" to potentially treat covid19 patients is true, I'll be a willing volunteer & will be tested for sure.

    yours, satx

    SATX,

He's probably busy performing oral surgery at his clinic at the moment.
I'm sure he could give you his credentials later...

How have you not seen any of his posts the last few years?? I believe an apology is in order.

    ZX9RCAM,

IF he is a dentist (I would presume that is what you are saying??), what credentials does he have specifically in treating viruses??

One of the things that "gets on my coffee nerves" is professionals in one field making "pronouncements" that are FAR outside their professional training.
(For example a PhD in plant biology making comments, as IF he was an expert in physics/musicology/geography/political theory, etc., etc., etc. OR a math wizard who claims to be "an expert" in ALL academic fields of endeavor.)

A personal comment: The Worldwideweird is FILLED with "experts", who have few or even NO actual credentials in the field of study that they claim to "know all that there is to know about" of some subject.
(Btw, there are few surgeons "of national reputation" that I would trust to "dig into the innards of" the engine of my much loved antique MB.)

Comment: Imo, the WORST OFFENDERS of "I'm an expert in everything" are lawyers, politicians & "media celebrities".

    hoghunting,

As a matter of fact, I have not. - I do NOT know the member. nor his credentials
(You may want to read my post # 170 about people who claim to know anything or everything outside of their actual specialty.= That's one of my "pet peeves".)

Comment: I have frequently lectured at colleges about "US Gunboat Diplomacy" of the 19th Century & upon the history of the Texas Revolution, as i have carefully researched both of those subjects for decades but I do NOT & will NOT offer "my untutored opinions" upon aquaculture, music, engineering, computers, physics, mathematics and/or upon a library-full of other subjects, which are outside of my expertise.

You should just apologize to TX OMFS right now, he isn’t just a dentist, he is full blown MD and surgeon, as well as a dentist.

BTW, my popcorn level is dropping waiting for you to realize your error.

    dennisz,

As I've said at least 3X, I know NOTHING about his credentials as a medical professional & when I asked him about his expertise about the COVID-19 virus, he ignored my query.

That said, please read my post #170 about people who who "bless others" with their opinions outside of their "field of expertise".

I would NOT consult an oral surgeon IF I ever (God forbid) needed treatment for cancer. - In such a case i would receive advice from & be treated by a qualified oncologist.

Similarly, I trust COL (Retired) Molly B___________, who is an ANC & Walter Reed Hospital Center trained NURSE PRACTICIONER of about 3 decades experience to "know her stuff" & not give her retired military patients BAD ADVICE.
The old Colonel is QUICK to tell patients, if she is NOT sure of their needs, to direct them to a qualified & appropriate specialist within USAMEDDAC.
(An Army-trained RN/NP generally, within their "specialty", is at least as qualified as the typical MD/DO is in their specific discipline.)
