Anyone own both or have used both? CompM5 vs PRO is also a valid comparison, not just the M4.

I do like that the CompM4 uses a AA battery to the PRO’s DL1/3N. CompM5 uses a AAA.

    Both have 2MOA dot.

I really need several optics so eventually I’ll probably end buying both, but any reason one over the other now?

Also, any favorites for mounts for CompM4?

Personally, I would go with the compm4/m5. Its personal bias, partially because they've been proven tried and tried military optics, partially because I aesthetically like them more. Also the common battery thing is a personal requirement. They're also considerably more expensive and you won't do yourself any disservice by going with the PRO

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. The PRO does use the same battery my PA PRO knockoff uses. The M4 with AA battery really is calling my name. Decisions, decisions.

I like both, both performed same, PRO is 1/2 price.

When shouldered they are likely to be indistinguishable.

The CompM4 is more likely to survive a fall off a cliff. The Pro leaves a lot of butter and beer and egg money in the pocket.

New, scarcely known, CompM5 is newest greatest and pushing a grand on your AMEX.
    Any first hand experience??

I’ve got a older CompML2 and a PRO, only played with a ML4 and like the Pro really well. It’s going on 2 years with the same Battery Set at the lowest setting. I’ve got several new ones but trying to run it out to see how long it’ll last..

I know HK is gone but I meant to respond to this the other week.

Originally the M5 battery compartment was up high but I believe I recently saw it down low now (could be wrong though.) If it is, I’m not opposed to the M5 either. The M4 battery is more common around my house though.

You can get the m5 with a compartment up high or down low, there's two versions. Also, it is recommended you use lithium batteries, as they're sealed better and don't leak like alkaline ones do after sitting inside there for a couple years.
