Went out and bought the 261. So far I’m pleased with it

Awesome! I don't think you will be disappointed with the saw in the least.

I’m amazed. There’s almost zero vibration in the handle. My gas edger vibrates the blood clean out of your hands. Gonna test it out in a week

I highly recommend the Stihl pre-mixed gas in the can that 's ready to use, or the Stihl brand two-stroke oil,

I bought a gallon of the fuel. It extended the warranty to 4 years too

Cool! Taken care, that saw should last you for many years.

The Stihl mechanic at the shop I managed years ago, showed me that cheap fuel, and ethanol fuel were his leading problems with the Stihl saws, and equipment being brought in for repairs.

Looks like you have that covered. Good luck and congrats on the new saw.

Thanks! I’m hoping it lasts my life. I’m putting a lot of faith in the brand and the price point! I’m excited to stretch her legs

Congrats on a great saw. I love mine.

One tip: Open up the chain Oiler all the way. Then use the saw and gradually back off the Oiler to get it to an amount you like.

Do you know what the “Ematic” position is on the Oiler? Read the manual and it’s a setting on the adjustment marked with an “E”
Any other tips regarding bar oil and such?

The E position, as I understand it, is just a medium setting. Mine was set on that setting from the dealer, and it wasn’t lubricating enough in my opinion.

I have no tips on chain tension. I was taught to take all the slack out of the chain so it’s firmly against the underside of the bar. The chain should be just tight enough that when you pull the chain down and away from the underside of the bar, it should go back into place against the underside of the bar. It should be no tighter than is necessary to do that.

I haven’t messed with the Oiler yet it’s definitely working though. I calibrated the electronic carburetor yesterday
