How many idiots were at this party? Was this idiot the only one to get infected? Or just the only one to make a deathbed confession to his nurse.

To a degree. A parable is designed to teach a moral truth. The quoted doc is trying to convey their moral truth by using the parable and sees that as nobly fictionalizing a multitude of things that have most likely occurred in the hospital.

I expect professionals to be honest; fictionalizing accounts and hiding them behind anonymity undercuts trustworthiness. The doc may believe they have the best intentions, but as you and I know rationalizing yourself to tell a lie...which is what fiction is...is the path to hell.
I was contrasting the doc's lies with the truth in a parable.

Very seldom is lie the right course of action, and regardless of the underlying intentions, even if well-meaning.

A lie is dishonest and deceitful. I'd rather be hurt by the truth, than comforted with a lie.

At some point, the truth comes out.

    From the story......
"Appleby said the hospital is treating other COVID-19 patients in their 20s and 30s who are “severely ill,” the station reported"

Now I wonder why thus could be?

His story has to be true because.....

as per my sister-in-law...if it's on the internet, it has to be true because your not allowed to lie on the internet.

    Yup, she really believes this.

I know Jane (Dr. Appleby) personally. When I need help navigating the system I call her. Hospital admin doctors are looked upon suspiciously by other doctors but Jane seems to try hard to be a good doctor in addition to a bean counter.

I'm not sure about the direct quote but I do know young patients are dying at Methodist. I've been called to help with two young COVID victims, one at that very hospital.

Doesn't add much to this thread, I know.

Just like the people doing the roadside coronavirus testing.

Although, I reckon it helps prevent taking it home on their clothes.

Somebody mentioned that people dealing with people that had CV19 were wearing full bio-hazard suits and equipment, but we are to believe that a simple cloth mask is sufficient to prevent getting, or spreading CV19?

Something there just doesn't add up to me.
