A dark tan will keep you going in the hot weather. Of course you have to build up that tan.
It’s about 105° here in Concan. Direct noon sun is intense!

Never really cared for Gatorade. I would drink one but would rather drink water. Mineral water aint bad for coke addicts to get their fix on. Energy drinks are another bad idea, as are coffee & tea. Cafine is a diuretic! Lots of perscriptions drugs are bad for sun exposure & heat.

Cold wet towels on the neck are good! Cooling the carotid artery works.
Try watering down the Gatorade. By itself it's too sweet for my taste. Find a ratio that fits your taste buds.

Although a really cold beer sounds good, and will taste pretty good, alcohol can be bad in the heat.
Had a baseball coach when I was younger who played MLB as a pitcher. He said when it got hot, they drank beer to keep hydrated.
Also, when my dad taught Pop Warner football, they would give out salt tabs on the hot days. Not sure if that is a ting anymore or not.

Dehydration is no joke! I was hospitalized for it once and it took 3 bags of saline before the doc was satisfied I was out of the woods, and they wouldn't unhook me till the 4th. I was only 21 when that happened, and I started taking hydration seriously after that. I don't go afield hiking or fishing without at least 2 liters of water, and if I'm hiking a ways away from the vehicle, I try to push as much water before I leave, and carry my 2 liters with me. I carry a gallon of water with me in my work truck and sip regularly, I made it into a habit.

I was wondering the same thing about the salt tablets. When I was in high school playing sports, they had big jars of salt tablets. We ate them like candy!

Salt is needed, but it's also easy to go too far and make your problems worse. Wife is a distance runner (60+, and working towards her next goal of 100 miles) and has to obviously really plan her nutrition and hydration. If your levels get too far out of whack, your brain will basically shut down. She's learned the hard way a couple times, and it took some time and some help from the crew to get food/salt/water back on track to complete the event.

Don’t forget about their paws on hot ground. Took my dog hiking at lost maples SP 5 years ago in mid summer. His paws blistered up and peeled. Had to carry him down the mountain

Wow, something to watch out for!

I walk my dog a few to several miles every day, we had been doing about 6.5 to 8 miles daily. Now that it is summer we walk about 2 miles or so less per day but still get in 4.5 to 5.5 miles daily although we are getting used to the heat and the last few days have been over 6 miles each day. I have been concerned about her walking on pavement, especially blacktop. The thing is though, when she has a choice of cooler grass or hot blacktop she often chooses to walk on the blacktop despite the fact it must be very hot. Luckily I have not noticed any problems with her paws.

    Pedialiyt isn't just for kids.

I use to do a 50/50% mixture with water in my H20 pack while racing dirt bikes.
I second Pedialyte. Older folks ( women in particular ) need to be mindful of hyponatremia and carefully balance their fluid intake even during excessive periods of heat.

Stay inside! I no longer sweat due to a medical condition. Water on the head and neck cools else I don't stay outside too long and definitely not doing heavy labor.

When we did training with the FD on a hot humid day we were not allowed to drink straight Gatorade. It was only provided mixed with water or if using the powder, twice the water was used.

Having been in heat stroke territory once before (stopped sweating and a 100+ degree breeze caused goose bumps) out in the sticks of South Texas between Cuero and Victoria in August was not a good thing.
