This is just about the only 9mm build I can find right now for the price I'm workin with...I was interested in keeping it small and 5" of extra barrel was too much for me. That extra 5"may also allow the bullet to achieve higher velocity thus breaking the sound barrier and making things much louder. 147 grain are barely subsonic.
I have a mag block adapter, and they are tricky to get just right. Saw someone talking about using these mags:This is just about the only 9mm build I can find right now for the price I'm workin with...

Stripped lower

Then I think I'll need a mag block adapter, right?

I don't have anything other than a couple 9mm pistols & a shotgun so no particular mags to try to match up with, open to suggestions...
After that should only b mags & ammo?...I hope lol

Preciate it, imma big boy tho lol. Still shoulda just left it along. Apologize to everyone else here as wellWeasel2255, you'll have to excuse Mohawk600. He had a serious reading comprehension problem, as well as an ability to go out of his way to be a complete ass towards other members her on TGT. He's not the typical TGT member. Please avoid or ignore if possible.
Saw these too. Would they fit straight into that PSA stripped lower?I have a mag block adapter, and they are tricky to get just right. Saw someone talking about using these mags:

This would eliminate need for mag block take care of the mags at the same time. I'm sure others who use these can chime in.

I wouldn't ask that tho. Hell, he mighta had a worse day than me, nvr knowI suspect unless Mr. Mohawk600 learns some manners, his next vacation will probably be a permanent one. He will see that dreaded line of death through his username.
Depends on PSA lower. If standard AR15 style, yes.Saw these too. Would they fit straight into that PSA stripped lower?

If i had that to spend I'd prolly already have something ordered lol. I do want a 300BO eventually & PSA has some really nice ones, just wanna get the wife a lil sumpn extra she'll b more comfy with four now. I think bro n law's 10.5" Sig 300BO is just a tad too much for her to shoulder for extensive periods, like she'll need to to b efficient & comfy. Hence the 4.5" inquiries lolThis thread is making me wanna get a PSA build kit for a pistol or rifle in .556 and a stripped lower. Cheapest routes could get one of each for $1100-1200 total. Trying to tell myself thats not next on my buy list, breathe and don't do it but but I hear PSA calling my name/wallet
9mm has killed a bad guy or 2.Well i don't need to wear 2 sets of earplugs lol. After some REALLY quick researching & without actually askin anyone besides Google, I'm thinkin I'll at least look into a 9mm AR. Ammo is cheaper & I already have 2 Taurus 9mm so can can just use what I have till I can grab more. Any objections to 9mm AR for home defense with the right ammo?

Great advice!! Nvr even considered muzzle flash. Thx dudeGoing back to your OP, you don’t know what you don’t know. I’d really encourage you to think about the following things.
For range practice, most people aren’t going to go thru more than a 30-rd mag at a time as a new shooter, especially women. They’re going to have ear pro and eye pro, so noise isn’t that much of a consideration. Electronic ear pro does a great job to make things quiet. You can easily leave a set of e-pro on the rifle for inside the home usage. It takes three seconds to turn on and don.
Consider the likelihood that this weapon is actually going to be employed in the house...it’s low...use that time to save for a suppressor and the tax stamp...one usage with no ear pro isn’t going to cause total and permanent loss of hearing. At night, I’m more worried about the muzzle flash, etc. from the brakes that are popular nowadays. If you don’t have a suppressor, a flash hider and the ear pro are my preferred setup.
Here’s some light reading in flash hiders.

There are a lot of good options. I LOVE my 10.5 300BO AR pistol, it's my hog/beside-the-bed-gun.Weasel, are you dead set on an AR carbine?
If not, check out the Kel-Tec SUB2000 carbine. A friend if mine has one he got last year. I have shot it several times, and it's an awesome carbine and not very expensive. It folds in half and is much more compact than an AR carbine. He keeps his in a bag that looks like a case for a laptop.
Was only dead set cuz that's the only thing in that class that I've seen in action. Thought i was set on 9mm but lack of availability is bout to change my mind lol. Playing hell finding ANYTHING in stock now...Weasel, are you dead set on an AR carbine?
