I used to use a log book, then a spreadsheet.

For the last 4-5 years, I’ve used the “Gun Log SPC” app. It is outstanding. I believe it is available for both Apple and Android. This link is for the Apple version:

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gun-log-spc/id551016396

I just installed this. Looks like a winner, and seems to do everything.

I’m still using small notebooks for DOPE though. Too hard to read and enter data on a phone in bright sunlight.

Easy enough to update after cleaning and while putting everything away.

    Nah.
I read stuff all the time that gets me riled up, so I start typing a comment.
Then I think about it a second, and just delete it.
Probably don't do the delete part enough....
A better man than I, at times.

Sometimes I furiously write and delete repeatedly and still go too far.

But I'm tryin. Fine single malt isnt the only thing that mellows and gets more complex with age. Alas, the bite never really goes away.

I keep a log in a S & W Gun Log book i got 40 years ago and keep it with my will. I don't like the idea of putting any gun info on my computer or phone. Big brother is watching and you do know the search engines are always there. You might as well send the ATF a list of everything you got. JMHO
