The prices tell a story though.

If it wasn't for all the regulations surrounding suppressors, those prices would be common. From what I have seen, they are not complicated devices. If people were free to make/buy them at will, you'd probably see $20 disposable cans too.

How are they not shutdown yet?

It's 100% legal for them to sell these, and for anyone to buy them.
What makes them illegal is for someone to buy one, drill the unfinished pieces, and install them on a firearm without first filing a Form 1,paying for and receiving a $200 tax stamp from the BATFE.

Think of these "Solvent Traps" as an 80% lower. It's not a firearm / suppressor until you make it one!

    Correct.

You can buy one, but it would be prudent that you use it solely as intended... as a solvent trap and nothing more. Drill that hole, get caught, and you may find yourself getting your hole drilled at the Greybar Hotel.
    :pounce:

I have wondered over these past few days if these guys WERE actually a reputable company... All this negative chatter about them being the ATF in disguise may have killed their business for good.

Look closer. Most of them have one solid threaded endcap, and one threaded endcap with a hole drilled out. It's probably illegal to knowingly receive one of those since you'd be in constructive possession of an unlicensed/untaxed "silencer" until you engrave it.

Do you have any links to this “constructive possession/intent” stuff I keep hearing about?

    Genuinely interested.

    Mike_From_Texas,

Fyi, "constructive possession" is a NUTTY IDEA, dreamed up by lawyers at BATFE some years ago, that allows BATFE to accuse a person of "intent to possess" an unlawful object that does NOT & may NOT ever exist.

For example, IF you own some wire, a flashlight battery, an electrical switch & some sort of flammable, the BATFE can claim that you had the INTENT to POSSESS, i.e., build an IED, even if you had NO such intent. = That is an example of "constructive possession".

Also, some 10 years ago, the BATFE attempted to charge a man in GA with "constructive possession" of an "unregistered short-barreled shotgun", because the man owned a semi-auto shotgun AND a hacksaw. = The BATFE CLAIMED that the man COULD HAVE actually constructed an UNLAWFUL NFA weapon if he wished to.
(LUCKILY, a federal district judge put a stop to that FOOLISHNESS in that ONE case.)

    yours, satx

I had purchased 2 80% Glock happy switches online that were legal when purchased. A year and a half later they decided they weren't and used the customer database from the manufacturer and came knocking......

One was actually in a Glock 17 when I pulled it out to surrender them. They were completely professional about the whole thing and told me they had 17 more in South Texas they were trying to collect......

Luckily for me I have an 07/02 and was conducting legal R&D..............
